This past week I started working with the Screamfest Horror Film Festival (MySpace) in Hollywood, California and today I've learned some fantastic news. I was informed this morning that Screamfest will host the WORLD PREMIERE of David Arquette's directorial debut, The Tripper, which features Jamie King, Thomas Jane, Lukas Haas, Jason Mewes, Balthazar Getty, Paul Reubens, Courteney Cox and of course David. You can get more info on the film over at David's official MySpace page (tell him B-D sent ya) or read on for the official press release. Tickets are going to go fast, so keep your eyes peeled. The film revolves around a group of friends who escape to a modern-day Woodstock concert for a weekend of debauchery, only to be stalked by a fanatical killer determined to finish what he started years earlier.

David Arquette’s “THE TRIPPER” to Make It’s World Premiere at the Screamfest Horror Film Festival in October!!

Beverly Hills, CA (September 15, 2006) – Rachel Belofsky, founder of the annual Screamfest Horror Film Festival, is pleased to announce the selection of David Arquette’s directorial debut film THE TRIPPER into competition for the 6th annual event, which is to be held October 13-22 at the Mann Chinese Theaters in Hollywood, California.

THE TRIPPER, which is a bloody political satire, revolves around a group of friends who escape to a modern-day Woodstock concert for a weekend of debauchery, only to be stalked by a fanatical killer determined to finish what he started years earlier. The film stars Jamie King (Sin City), Thomas Jane (The Punisher), Lukas Haas (Alpha Dog), Jason Mewes (Clerks), Balthazar Getty (Feast), Paul Reubens (Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) with cameos from David Arquette (Scream), Courteney Cox (Scream) and many more!

“We are extremely excited to present the World Premiere of David Arquette’s directing debut,” says founder Rachel Belofsky, “horror fans are going to have a blood-soaked good time.”
