First Independent Pictures will release Edmond on October 3rd (yes, another DVD is coming out that day), according to Davis DVD. Adapted for the screen by legendary playwright David Mamet and directed by Stuart Gordon, the thriller stars William H. Macy as a businessman who walks out on his family on the advice of a fortune teller and plunges into a darkly funny yet horrifying vortex of New York's hellish underworld. The cast also includes Julia Stiles, Denise Richards, Mena Suvari and Joe Mantegna. The DVD arrives with an anamorphic widescreen transfer, Dolby Digital 5.1, an audio commentary with Mamet, deleted scenes and "Anatomy of a Thriller" featurette. Retail is $26.99.
