While browsing around on the IMDB page of Warner Bros. upcoming remake of Friday the 13th I noticed something intriguing. On the site they credit Nana Visitor as the actress who plays Pamela Voorhees (Jason's mother who is beheaded in the original) and Kathleen Garrett as "Jason's Mother". We made a few phone calls and learned that there are in fact two people playing Pamela Voorhees, and here's how. Visitor - who was the first cast - stars in the actual film at Ms. Voorhees, while Garrett shared her voice as Jason's anger-filled mama in the full trailer that's been online the past few months. Hope that clears the air. You can see Visitor in action when FRIDAY hits theaters February 13th, 2009. ...Read More

What about a sequel to SE7EN, David Fincher? "I would be less interested in that than I would in having cigarettes put out in my eyes," the director confided to an inquisitive fan at the Film Society of Lincoln Center's "Curious Case of Benjamin Button" talkback. FilmNation Entertainment, launched by Glen Basner as a foreign sales company, has established a production arm and set Aaron Ryder to run it. FilmNation gets started with two projects, one of which is The Raven, the Hannah Shakespeare/Ben Livingston-penned thriller set in the last days of Edgar Allan Poe's life, when he gets wrapped up in a serial killer investigation. Ryder originated the project at Endgame, which will co-produce and split the development costs with FilmNation, with Endgame financing production. Ryder will acquire properties, with the emphasis on scripts over books and pitches because the development cycle will be shorter, allowing Basner to begin lining up production financing that much sooner. Let's hope for more horror.
