It has been several years since Edward Sanchez's Blair Witch Project blew up at the big screen, and we're finally on our way to seeing his next feature film, Altered, thanks to Rogue Pictures. Today the first ever pics from the set were released, along with some details on what type of film it is and Sanchez's ambitions for the long delayed third Blair Witch Project. Read on for the story...
Here's a taste of the Fangoria article:
"ALTERED, however, is a very different story. It harks back to ’80s horror films and promises to be both scary and original, and also marks Sanchez’s reunion with BLAIR WITCH co-star Michael C. Williams. “Mike plays a character named Otis; he did a great job and is fantastic in this film,” Sanchez says. “ALTERED is really cool. It’s about these guys who were abducted by aliens when they were teenagers and are now all screwed up as adults. One night, they happen to capture an alien and think they’re going to get revenge on it for what it did to them years before. They’re wrong, of course. They take the creature back to their friend’s house, and all hell breaks loose. The creature is awesome, and the movie is a really fun ride. Just don’t expect a SAW or HOSTEL, people. It’s more like those old horror films from the ’80s."
Sanchez also talks about a new treatment for BLAIR WITCH 3, "Like Myrick, Sanchez hasn’t given up on the idea of a new BLAIR WITCH film: “I’d love to do another, especially a prequel about Elly Kedward,” he says. “We’ve given it a lot of thought and there’s even a pretty good treatment, but we’ll have to wait and see what the people at Lionsgate [which took over Artisan] have to say about it.' "
