B-D scooper Joey M. discovered that Return to Sleepaway Camp might be heading to limited theaters this fall, according to Sleepawaycampmovies.com. They also had some really interesting news about the FX work for the film, which has been causing much of the delay. Written and directed byRobert Hiltzik, the film stars Vincent Pastore, Jonathan Tiersten, Paul DeAngelo, Isaac Hayes, Adam Wylie, Mary Elizabeth King, Paul Iacono, Felissa Rose and the band CKY. Read on for the skinny...
Sleepawaycampmovies: writes:"Unfortunately, the original CGI AFTER-EFFECTS were not up to snuff. Director, Robert Hiltzik and Executive Producer, Tom Van Dell were not satisfied with the results and all the work was Scrapped! Ouch!! As if you all hadn't been waiting long enough. Then the hunt was on for a new FX Team to start-from-scratch yet again for all the digital compositing and bring everything up to spec. This caused yet another delay... but Now, it's FINALLY finishing. Executive Producer, Tom Van Dell says that the new 10-man team of CGI FX artists are hard at work every day finishing up the eagerly awaited sequel. Van Dell is also optimistic about a possible FAll Theatrical release! So hold on to your camp hats because we should (finally) have some big announcements to make by Summer's End."
It's summer camp as usual at Camp Manabe where the kids torment each other for fun while the underpaid camp staff provide as little supervision as possible. Greedy camp owner Frank (Vincent Pastore) and junior partner Ronnie (Paul DeAngelo) do their best to keep everyone in line, but something sinister is about to put a slash in the roster. When campers and staff mysteriously begin disappearing and turning into gruesome corpses, paranoid Ronnie can't shake the memory of a series of grisly murders that took place at Camp Arawak where he worked 2 decades ago. Has a "ghost" from the past come back to haunt him?
