Last night I checked out 20th Century Fox's X-Men 3, and attached to the print was the teaser trailer for New Line Cinema's tremendously fan-hyped Snakes on a Plane, which hits theaters August 18th. When the word "Snakes" graced the screen the entire audience went into a screaming frenzy, followed by minutes of chatter that ran right into the opening credits of the mutant opus. New Line knows what they've got on their hands and they're wasting no time in promoting the Samuel Jackson starrer as today they've already fully launched the official website for David Ellis' film. Not only does the site feature tons of downloads... but it uncharacteristically carries three clips from the film (usually studios wait until the film is in release)!! I have a weird feeling this may be one of the best grossing films of the summer. Jackson plays an FBI agent who is escorting a witness on a flight from Hawaii to Los Angeles when an assassin releases hundreds of deadly snakes on a commercial airplane in order to eliminate the witness. The FBI agent, along with a rookie pilot, frightened crew and passengers must then band together in a desperate attempt to survive.
