The UK has becoming an increasingly popular place for new horror pics, and there have been plenty of times they've got some really kick ass flicks before we have here in the States. For example, we're still waiting on Lionsgate's The Descent, which they apparently are trying to tank junk like 'High Tension'. Anyhoo, today a new UK horror pic entitled Reverb finished casting up for shoot- and it sounds like it may have been inspired by Sam Raimi's 'Evil Dead'. Read on for the skinny...
Variety reports:
Leo Gregory, Eva Birthistle and Margo Stilley will star in Brit horror pic "Reverb," the directorial debut of screenwriter Eitan Arrusi ("Long Time Dead").
Pic, which starts shooting Monday in London, is produced by Frank Mannion of Swipe Films, which is also handling worldwide sales.
It's the story of a struggling rock musician trying to get his career back on track. He is locked in a recording studio overnight with his band. They sample an old record with a terrifying voice hidden in the music, and all hell is let loose.
Grammy-winning music producer Jack Knife Lee has written the film's signature track.
Financing is via Keith Hayley and Robert Bevan's Intl. Film Collective. The two are exec producers of the movie.
