What in gods name is going on? Ok, I know, I was totally knocking on New Line for their Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, which I am now super excited for, but now Halloween!? No... really, a remake of Halloween! Here's the craziest part, Dimension is trying to get John Carpenter to direct it! Read on for the juicy details...
Dimension wants to burn the old franchise from fans memories, according to Creature-Corner. They write, "...Sources inside and outside of Dimension Films have informed Creature-Corner that the genre production house responsible for the Halloween franchise from part 6 and on is reportedly throwing in exorbitant amounts of money to bring series creator John Carpenter back into the fold?to remake the film that started it all."
"Dimension is seeking to have Carpenter draft and direct a Halloween update rather than further the new stream of continuity revamped in H20 and carry on in Halloween: Resurrection. They want to start from scratch. Re-introduce Lori Strode, Dr. Loomis, and Michael Myers to a new generation of audiences apparently believed to be (by the studio execs) "video store deprived."
"Whether Carpenter will take the bait or not is still to be determined, but at least you know, dear readers, that Dimension is working towards this goal. They're putting the energy into the idea."
