Adam Green Talks 'Hatchet' Sequel with B-D

During our upcoming interview with Adam Green, writer/director of the indie feature film Hatchet, he discussed some plans for a sequel that would bring Tony Todd's character back again. The first film that Green is still cleaning up also stars Kane Hodder and Robert Englund. Read on for the scoop. When a group of tourists on a New Orleans haunted swamp tour find themselves stranded in the wilderness, their evening of fun and spooks turns into a horrific nightmare.

Adam Green tells B-D:

The thing about working with actors like Kane Hodder, Robert Englund, Joshua Leonard, and Tony Todd is that…these are serious professionals at their craft. There’s no phoning it in and they have very intelligent and well thought out suggestions and opinions on what they do. For instance, Tony Todd literally makes love to every word that he speaks on film. He doesn’t just embrace the moment- he embraces every breath of his character. I am so amped up for what his part will be in the sequel if there gets to be one and if my story line continues as planned. Robert Englund was so wonderfully supportive of the film and I. There is a moment that was captured for the DVD where I have my first phone call with him after he had read the script. 30 minutes go by before I can get a word in edge wise. He was so excited from it that he literally went through and repeated his favorite lines and moments from the entire thing before I could even mutter a choked up “th-th-thank you, sir”. Joshua Leonard has become a friend of mine. It’s hilarious to me that he is one of the best character actors I’ve met, yet he’s best known for playing ‘himself’ in the Blair Witch Project. After seeing him in Billy Butler’s Madhouse, (a phenomenal movie for those who haven’t seen it yet) he was my only pick for the part of ‘Ainsely’. I didn’t even talk to anyone else.
