Columbia Pictures' The Covenant, which will be directed by Renny Harlin, is set to hit theaters on September 8th, 2006, according to FilmJerk. "The Covenant" graphic novel features a story that takes place prior to the events in the upcoming movie and follows a group of four families whose patriarchs wield a vast eldritch power. Those powers have been passed down from father to son for generations. They spend the summer learning how to use them, but accidentally unleash a great big evil into the world. Four years later they have to stop what they started.
