Steven Spielberg's War of the Worlds (review #1, #2) vaporized audiences everywhere pulling an estimated $100,207,000 thus far and putting it #1 at the box office. On a sad note George A Romero's Land of the Dead (review) dropped a sickening 73.8% pulling in only $2,681,000 in its second week of release, making the total $16 million- at least it broke even in the US, hopefully that still warrants a sequel.
