New Line Cinema worked Blade: Trinity in a way that they could spin it off into a film called The Nightstalkers. After pretty much flopping at the box office, New Line has since abandoned the idea, which was expected, especially with big pays due to Jessica Biel and Ryan Reynolds if the spin-off happened. Well it looks like New Line would rather begin anew than spend the dough and are putting their eggs into another Vampire basket called Darksiders, also original penned by David Goyer. Read on for the scoop...
According to the Hollywood Reporter:Jonathan Hensleigh is sinking his teeth into New Line Cinema's "Darksiders," signing on to write and direct the vampire thriller. The project has been through several incarnations, with David Goyer and TV director David Nutter attached to direct at various times. Tracie Graham and Alison Rosenzweig are producing the feature, which revolves around a band of vampires that become special operatives for the FBI. The original script was written by Tom Parker and Jim Jennewein. The project is being overseen by Kent Alterman, Michele Weiss and Keith Goldberg.
