Luma Pictures has signed on as lead visual effects house for Lakeshore Entertainment/Screen Gems' Underworld II, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The visual effects work for "Underworld II" is expected to be more ambitious than for the first film and will feature CG creatures. Luma is expected to deliver digital matte paintings, CG set extensions, green screen composites, particle effects and other visuals to enhance the film. The film is currently in production with Len Wiseman again directing. Len Wiseman's sequel, which hits theaters December 2nd, stars Kate Beckinsale, Shane Brolly, Scott Speedman, Derek Jacobi, Bill Nighy, Michael Sheen and Ben Cross.
