When I first heard that they were fast tracking Saw 2 I was filled with excitement and a little worried as well. Considering that Saw was one of my favorite movies, I hope they really do not ruin this film by rushing a crappy second installment. Well it seems, that they are at least heading in the right direction, with bringing on some effect guys with some serious skill. Check out inside for all the details.

Fango has learned that Canadian makeup FX artists Francois Dagenais and Damon Bishop are creating the bloodshed for Lions Gate’s currently filming SAW II (see the official website here). Both artists recently served as part of the LAND OF THE DEAD team; Dagenais has also worked on URBAN LEGENDS: FINAL CUT, BRAM STOKER’S SHADOWBUILDER and THE CLUB, while Bishop’s credits include eXistenZ and JASON X. Fango has additionally learned that the film, directed by Darren Lynn Bousman from a script he wrote with original creators James Wan and Leigh Whannell, and starring the returning Shawnee Smith and Tobin Bell, will be largely set in one location, in the style of the first movie, though no specific details are yet forthcoming. We’ve also heard rumors that Donnie (THE SIXTH SENSE) Wahlberg is starring, though Lions Gate has yet to confirm it
