Standing out from most DVD releases, Sony has given Takashi Shimuzu's US remake of The Grudge (review #1, #2) a little royal treatment in the look of their DVD art for the release on February 1, 2005. The film grossed over $100 million at the US box office and a sequel is in the works. Read on for the artwork and some more specs...

DVD Answers writes, "Early details have begun to emerge on the Sam Raimi produced horror The Grudge which stars Sarah Michelle Gellar. The disc has been scheduled for release on the 1st February next year, and should set you back around $28.95. As well as an anamorphic widescreen transfer and English Dolby Digital 5.1 track, the disc is set to include an audio commentary with Sam Raimi, Ted Raimi, Sarah Michelle Gellar and more, a sixty minute documentary divided into multiple sections and an Under the Skin featurette which sets out to give a medical explanation of the fear response in films."
