The Innkeepers

Included in Evan Dickson’s best films of 2011 is Ti West’s atmospheric supernatural horror The Innkeepers, which stars Sara Paxton, Pat Healy, Kelly McGillis and George Riddle. The flick is now available on VOD, and will be opening in limited theaters February 3. A new clip has been released and features Claire (Sara Paxton) and Luke (Pat Healy) succeeding in contacting the spirit of Madeline O’malley, a woman who haunts The Yankee Pedlar.

After over one hundred years of service, The Yankee Pedlar Inn is shutting its doors for good. The last remaining employees –Claire (Sara Paxton) and Luke (Pat Healy)—are determined to uncover proof of what many believe to be one of New England’s most haunted hotels. As the Inn’s final days draw near, odd guests check in as the pair of minimum wage “ghost hunters” begin to experience strange and alarming events that may ultimately cause them to be mere footnotes in the hotel’s long unexplained history.

insidious 5 trailer

In the wake of last year’s box office hit Insidious: The Red Door, Sony has announced tonight that the next installment in the Insidious franchise has been dated for 2025 release.

You can expect the untitled next movie in theaters August 29, 2025.

Deadline notes in their report tonight that this particular project is NOT the previously announced spinoff movie Thread: An Insidious Tale, which doesn’t yet have a release date.

Mandy Moore and Kumail Nanjiani will star in Thread: An Insidious Tale.

Director James Wan’s original Insidious movie in 2011 was followed by Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013), Insidious: Chapter 3 (2015), Insidious: The Last Key (2018), and last year’s Insidious: The Red Door, which became the highest grossing movie in the entire franchise thus far.

Needless to say, this franchise still has a lot of life left in it. Stay tuned for more.
