TV: Trailer For ‘Locke & Key’ Series That Fox Passed On…
One of the biggest disappointments of the year was when Fox passed up turning Locke & Key into a series. The pilot presentation was directed by none other than Mark Romanek and featured Miranda Otto, Sarah Bolger, Nick Stahl, Jesse McCartney, Skylar Gaertner and Ksenia Solo in a live-action adaptation of Joe Hills’ fantastic comic series.
Series writer, Josh Friedman, linked up the official trailer that recently leaked online. “This leaked L/K trailer was made by Fox for advertisers months ago (obviously before they decided not to pick us up),” he Tweeted, “Nobody should make anything of its presence on the net. I don’t know who put it out there. But it is something Fox had shown me long ago.”
Previous stories indicate this series is as dead as a doornail, which SUCKS. Anyways, enjoy the trailer below and dream of what could have been.
“The series is the story of Nina Locke (Otto) and her three children, Tyler (McCartney), Kinsey (Bolger), and Bode (Gaertner), who survive an unspeakable horror and attempt to rebuild their lives at Keyhouse, their family home in Lovecraft, Massachusetts. It is a mysterious New England mansion, with fantastic and transformative keys hidden inside its walls that are also being sought by a hate-filled and relentless creature with ties to the Locke family’s past who will stop at nothing to accomplish his sinister goals.”
Brendan Fraser is back for the upcoming fourth installment in The Mummy franchise from directors Radio Silence, and Michael Johnston (Obsession) is now in talks to join him.
The Hollywood Reporter lets us know tonight that Michael Johnston is in “early talks” to join The Mummy 4, which will release in theaters on October 15, 2027 via Universal.
Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz, and John Hannah will reprise their iconic roles as Rick O’Connell, Evelyn O’Connell, and Jonathan Carnahan in the upcoming movie.
Radio Silence duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett (Ready or Not, Scream 5-6) are directing from a script by David Coggeshall (Orphan: First Kill).
Plot details are being kept under wraps at this time, but the brand new sequel is expected to disregard the events of the third movie, in which Rachel Weisz did not appear.
“It’s just really beautiful and scary and sweeping, and it’s awesome,” Gillet teases. Bettinelli-Olpin adds that the film “has all of the heart and the character that you could hope for.”
A remake of the classic Universal monster movie that took an action-adventure approach, The Mummy was released in 1999 and grossed $417 million worldwide. It was followed by The Mummy Returns in 2001 and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor in 2008.
