The Dude Designs’ ‘Psychotic Forest Ranger’ One-Sheet

Published

on

Here at B-D, we’re big fans of The Dude Designs (aka Tom Hodge), who created the amazing posters for Hobo with a Shotgun and The Innkeepers earlier this year. We’re proud to present his latest cult classic one-sheet for the upcoming indie horror comedy, The Legend of the Psychotic Forest Ranger, which features the biggest and most bad ass axe ever wielded in a movie poster!

According the director Brad Mills, the film pays homage with it’s authenticity – from the poster, the trailer & the film, it’s meant to be an authentic classic experience like Troll, Basket Case and even Larry Blamire’s 2005 sendup to Cold War era alien movies, The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra.

But, enough of my rambling. I’ll let The Dude himself say a few words.

For LOTPFR, I wanted to create that classic cheesy 80’s slasher vibe, with homages to every thing from Sleepaway Camp to Friday the 13th to Silent Madness 3D! As the film is going for more elements of dark humour, it allowed me to run with it and go totally over the top. So I decided to make you, the viewer, the victim in this one so you can feel what it’s like to be hacked up by a raving mad satanic forest ranger… in an 80’s horror film!

I also wanted to do for the axe what Hobo did for the shotgun and get the largest axe ever wielded by a maniac on a poster design… is there a Guinness record for that?!?

Full of plot holes & cheesy dialogue, The Legend of the Psychotic Forest Ranger is a B horror movie straight out of the 80s. After taking a wrong turn down an abandoned road, the Jock, the Joker, the Blond Bimbo & the Paranoid Brunette run out of gas and find themselves stranded in the middle of the woods. What a total drag. What was that noise? Why is everyone vanishing? Is it all one of Bradley’s dumb practical jokes, or could The Legend be true? Your compass can’t help you in these woods.
