UPDATE: Emma Stone Battles the Undead Once Again in ‘Pride, Prejudice and Zombies’
Update: The star apparently has PASSED on the role….
After kicking undead ass in Zombieland, Emma Stone is set to do battle with the living dead once again in Lionsgate’s Pride, Prejudice and Zombies (a much cleaner title), reports Variety. She will star as “Elizabeth Bennet” in the Craig Gillespie-directed adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith’s historical retelling.
The pic is a spinoff on the Jane Austen novel — with the twist that Bennett and Mr. Darcy are fighting off zombies. The story’s set in an alternate version of 19th Century England that features deadly ancestors roaming the countryside.
Natalie Portman, Annette Savitch, Richard Kelly, Ted Hamm and Sean McKittrick are producing through Portman’s Handsomecharlie Films and Kelly’s Darko Films.
The perfect family is brutally eviscerated in the upcoming franchise installment Evil Dead Burn, and a brand new clip from the grueling experience has been unleashed this week.
