Climax Over Very NSFW ‘Hatchet II’ Clip — In Person Appearances, Theaters!

Published

on

There’s no need to guess if Adam Green’s Hatchet II will have sex and violence as this brand new clip proves it. In the very not work safe clip, Layton (AJ Bowen) & Avery (Alexis Peters) have sex, talk Jesus and lose their head at the climax. Yeah, pun intended. Dark Sky Films will release Green’s slasher sequel UNRATED in theaters on October 1 – next Friday! Inside you’ll find the clip, along with a massive list of theaters and in person appearances by the cast and crew! Awesome! It follows Marybeth (Danielle Harris) as she escapes from the clutches of Victor Crowley (Kane Hodder), learns the truth about his curse, and heads back into the haunted New Orleans swamp to seek revenge for her family and kill Victor Crowley once and for all…
You like this better than ice cream…you like this better than Jesus?

Dark Sky Films, a division ofMPI Media Group, announced today that in anticipation of the upcoming October 1st release of HATCHET II, the film’s cast and director will be making special appearances at midnight and opening weekend showings across the country.

Moviegoers in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, Tampa and Orlando will be treated to appearances by director Adam Green and the cast of HATCHET II – including horror icons Danielle Harris (HALLOWEEN), Kane Hodder (FRIDAY THE 13tH), Tony Todd (CANDYMAN), R.A. Mihailoff (TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE). Fans will get a chance to get a meet and greet the cast and participate in a Q&A following the film.

For a complete list of cities where the film is opening and locations where talent is appearing please see below.

Adam Green’s HATCHET II will be distributed in theaters across the country under the AMC independent program, beginning midnight Oct 1. Cities where the film will be released include New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, Atlanta, Chicago, New Orleans, Boston, Baltimore, Detroit, St. Louis, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Columbus, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Houston, Dallas, Seattle, Washington DC, Milwaukee, Tucson, Montreal, and Toronto.

A ferociously fun tribute to the old-school horror sensation slasher movies of the 80’s, HATCHET II is the follow-up to the popular original film, which was released theatrically in 2007 and became a sleeper-hit, gaining a wide following on DVD. Just as the 80’s had their signature murderous maniacs-HALLOWEEN’s Michael Myers of Haddonfield and FRIDAY THE 13th’s Jason Voorhees of Camp Crystal Lake- the original HATCHET marked the arrival of the latest and most lethal of the genre’s stalking murderers: Victor Crowley, a crazed backwoods killer stalking the bayous of New Orleans.

HATCHET II picks up right where the 2007 original film ends, as Marybeth (Danielle Harris fromHALLOWEEN) escapes from the clutches of the deformed, swamp-dwelling killer Victor Crowley (Kane Hodder from FRIDAY THE 13th). Marybeth returns to the Louisiana swamps along with an army of hunters to recover the bodies of her family and exact her revenge against Victor Crowley.

Jessica Rothe Keeps the Hope Alive for Third ‘Happy Death Day’ Movie

Published

on

It’s now been five years since the release of sequel Happy Death Day 2U, Christopher Landon’s sequel to the Groundhog Day-style slasher movie from 2017. Both films star Jessica Rothe as final girl Tree Gelbman, and director Christopher Landon had been planning on bringing the character – and the actor – back for a third installment. So… where is it?!

We’ve been talking about a potential Happy Death Day 3 for several years now, with the ball in producer Jason Blum’s court. Happy Death Day 2U scared up $64 million at the worldwide box office, a far cry from the first film’s $125 million. But with a reported production budget of just $9 million, that first sequel was profitable for Blumhouse. So again… where is it?!

Chatting with Screen Geek this week while promoting her new action-thriller Boy Kills World, franchise star Jessica Rothe provided a hopeful update on Happy Death Day 3.

Well, I can say Chris Landon has the whole thing figured out,” Rothe explains. “We just need to wait for Blumhouse and Universal to get their ducks in a row.

Rothe continues in her comments to Screen Geek, “But my fingers are so crossed. I think Tree [Gelbman] deserves her third and final chapter to bring that incredible character and franchise to a close or a new beginning.”

Back in 2020, Christopher Landon had revealed that the working title for the third installment was Happy Death Day to Us, said to be “different than the other two films.”

In the meantime, Christopher Landon is directing a mysterious thriller titled Drop for Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes, along with a werewolf movie titled Big Bad for Lionsgate.
