Want to See the Killer From Wes Craven’s ‘My Soul to Take’?
Taking on Saw 3D in theaters on October 29 is Wes Craven’s post-converted slasher My Soul to Take, which stars Max Theirot, Denzel Whitaker, Shareeka Epps, and Emily Meade. This morning we woke up to a leaked look at the killer from the film that can be viewed inside. This is your final chance to heed my spoiler warning. In the sleepy town of Riverton, legend tells of a serial killer who swore he would return to murder the seven children born the night he died. Now, 16 years later, people are disappearing again. Has the psychopath been reincarnated as one of the seven, or did he survive the night he was left for dead?
The ’90s slasher franchise I Know What You Did Last Summer is headed back to the big screen with a brand new movie that’s now been dated for theatrical release in Summer 2025.
The brand new movie will release in theaters on July 18, 2025.
Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Do Revenge) is on board to direct the next installment in the franchise for Sony, with Leah McKendrick (M.F.A.) writing the screenplay.
We don’t yet know if the original cast will be back for the new movie, but we’ve previously heard that both Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. were in talks to return.
Jim Gillespie directed the original I Know What You Did Last Summer back in 1997, written by Kevin Williamson (Scream) and based on Lois Duncan’s novel. The film spawned sequels in 1998 and 2006. Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. only came back for that first sequel.
In the 1997 slasher movie, “Four young friends bound by a tragic accident are reunited when they find themselves being stalked by a hook-wielding maniac in their small seaside town.”
More recently, the franchise returned with Amazon’s short-lived television series.
