Bloody Baby a Hallucination? First Images From ‘Mirages’!
Known for his horror short Sinistra (you can enjoy that here), Bloody Disgusting friend Talal Selhami has given us the first look at some bloody stills from Mirages, his brand new horror/adventure flick that hesays “is something between Cube, “LOST” and The Shinning.” The flick, produced by the famous Moroccan director Nabil Ayouch, is produced by French/Moroccan, Ali’n, S.N.R.T. and French company Wallpaper. “Five individuals with contrasting profiles compete for a position within “Matsuika”, a multinational corporation recently set up in Morocco. Following an interview with the CEO, they are advised to undertake a mysterious test in a secret location. It will determine who will hold the position. All five applicants accept and are instructed into a distressing bus, with no windows.
After endless driving, an accident occurs with the candidates trapped in the wreck. Thanks to a joint effort, they manage to evacuate the bus only to find themselves lost in the desert with their driver nowhere to be found. They start to wander, questioning the nature of the accident. Is it part of the test? Despite their will to survive and an urge to find clues, mirages of their most intimate fears start to haunt them.”

When nurse Julia finds herself trapped inside the home of her dementia patient, she begins to suspect things are not what they seem; something demonic is seeping through the cracks of this old home. Trapped and with nowhere to turn, Julia soon finds herself in battle to rid the house of this evil before it is too late.

“This film depicts the most harrowing 90 minutes of our protagonist’s life, and I felt that the most visceral way to really feel this was to do a single-shot film,” O’Brien previously teased. “We are with her every step and misstep she takes – through the unraveling of the mystery to the horror of her discovery. It’s a fun, twisty roller-coaster ride that puts a new spin on exorcisms.”
Bury the Devil is the first installment in a planned trilogy. The prequel, Bury the Devil: Origin, is already in development with O’Brien returning to the helm.
O’Brien produces along with Philip Kalin-Hajdu (The Sacrifice Game) and Benoit Beaulieu (Turbo Kid).
