IFC Films has announced an April 30th release for Tom Six's disturbing-yet-engaging Human Centipede: First Sequence, opening in limited markets before expanding. Unfortunately for them they'll be opening against A Nightmare on Elm Street, but I'm sure some people can wait for that. Check out the new synopsis and a clip below, this is one you do NOT want to miss (bring some friends).
"A one-of-a-kind experience that is guaranteed to shock and divide audiences, Dutch filmmaker Tom Six's twisted biological horror film ,"The Human Centipede" confidently goes where few films have dared to go. In addition to its shocking imagery, the film also features an indelibly villainous performance by Dieter Laser, whose brilliant and demented Dr. Heiter is sure to soon join the ranks of Freddy, Jason and Jigsaw whenever true horror icons are discussed.
During a stopover in Germany in the middle of a carefree road trip through Europe, two American girls find themselves alone at night when their car breaks down in the woods. Searching for help they find only an isolated villa, whose mysterious owner, Dr Heiter, takes them in for the night. The next day they awake to find themselves in the basement, trapped in a terrifying makeshift hospital with another one of the doctor's abductees. Dr Heiter explains to the three of them that he is retired surgeon who had specialized in separating Siamese twins. However his three "patients" are not about to be separated, but joined together in a horrific operation. He plans to be the first to connect people, one to the next, via their gastric system, and in doing so bring to life his sick lifetime fantasy: 'the human centipede'."
What this ? some sort of SciFi porn? and they planning on going head to head with nightmare on elm st? lol yea right. even tho the new Freddy Kruger sucks there's no way this corny movie can compete.
Opening against Nightmare on Elm Street seems like a good idea to me. After seeing so many horror remakes and being a lifelong horror fan, I simply realized with the trailers for this remake that I don't care about it, and I won't be rushing to see it on opening weekend. I might go to see it at the cheap theaters, but might wait for DVD. It just doesn't matter to me.
The funny thing is, watching a Nightmare on Elm Street in the theatres will be ruined because of the constant loud and obnoxious tweeny boppers shouting out stupid shit, while they're playing with their Black berries and Cellphones. Like OMG, this is GAY! Not scary! OMGZZZ
Horror movies are ment to be watched alone, at night, with the lights out. I'll wait til ANOES hits Bluray. I dont want a bunch of tweens fucking up the experience.
For any real horror fan that lives in Orlando and HATES to have your movies ruined by the Ghetto and the Teenager - I have some advice. Go to the very first showing on a Sunday morning at Universal Studios. I kid you not. I have tried them all and Universal barely has anyone around at 10-11am on Sunday mornings - especially for horror films. Plus it's like $6 to get in.
Otherwise, wait till the DVD/Blu because it will get ruined with all the fucking idiot trash in this town.
I cannot wait for this... I wish it would get to DVD already! Plus, where the hell is Antichrist... Those are my most anticipated horror releases right now!
Why the Hell would ANYONE want to see this movie?! I don't get it. "It's artistic" or "it's socially relevant". Fuck it is! It's poorly polished exploitation movie. THAT'S IT!
It's been a while since I've seen a horror trailer or clip that makes me flinch. That's why I'm sure this film will leave a dark spot in audience's minds and hopefully mine.
this one looks totally fucked up!!! what kind of sicko comes up with those ideas for gods sake ... i'm mesmerized ... if it comes to a theater near me ... definetly count me it!!!
I'm so sick of remakes I won't be seeing the new NOES in theaters OR on DVD, so I couldn't care less when it comes out...this film looks original, gruesome, disturbing and just plain WEIRD. Bring it on!
So it seems that "young silly American girls who go on a trip to Europe get slaughtered in freakish ways" is nearly as popular a theme as vampire films now.
This sounds more sick than fun to me, shock value doesn't do much for me if it doesn't manage to entertain me.
It isn't often that the premise of a film makes me feel repulsed. The more I read about this one though the more I kinda get a weird nausea in my gut...and since I am sorta messed up in a wonderful horror fanatic way...natuarally I want ta see it!!!
Enough with the "Torture Porn" horror already. Can someone pleas make a film that isn't about torture and mutilating someone to get their rocks off. If you go see this film, you are only helping to stop the creation of horror with relevance and something getting put out that's actually good. You are also a closet Copaphilliac. Which means you want someone to poop in your mouth. Enjoy your psychosis. STOP SUPPORTING STUPID MOVIES LIKE THIS YOU MORONS!!!!
Good thing i live in Holland, because i already saw the movie. Tom Six is a crappy director, believe me his dutch work is horrible. He was named the Ed Wood of Holland. Human Centipide was his first decent movie, so i say - Check it out.
