Sony Pictures Home Entertainment recently announced rated DVD ($28.96), unrated DVD ($28.96), and Blu-ray editions of Rob Zombie's Halloween II for January 12th. The film follows the aftermath of Michael Myers' rampage as seen through the eyes of his sister. To get you guys pumped for the release, beyond the break you'll find a brutal red band sequence from the sequel that features Scout Taylor-Compton as Laurie Strode in the Haddonfield hospital where Michael Myers (Tyler Mane) is on the loose. width="1" height="1" border="0">

"Rob Zombie's H2 (HALLOWEEN) picks up at the exact moment that 2007's box-office smash, HALLOWEEN stopped and follows the aftermath of Michael Myers's (Tyler Mane) murderous rampage through the eyes of heroine Laurie Strode (Scout Taylor Compton). Evil has a new destiny. Michael Myers is back in this terrifying sequel to Rob Zombie’s visionary re-imagining of Halloween. It is that time of year again, and Michael Myers has returned home to sleepy Haddonfield, Illinois to take care of some unfinished family business. Unleashing a trail of terror that only horror master Zombie can, Myers will stop at nothing to bring closure to the secrets of his twisted past. But the town's got an unlikely new hero, if they can only stay alive long enough to stop the unstoppable."

-Commentary with Writer/Director Rob Zombie
-Deleted and Alternate Scenes
-Blooper Reel

This movie sucked balls. There was NO REASON to keep throwing Rob's wife in the movie with that lame ass horse ans bad goth/emo makeup job. Dude, get a hint...she is "OK" looking...but not worth shoving down our throats. She ain't THAT fine, Rob! I mean she is hot for a old hippy looking druggie, but c'mon...you got Danielle Harris naked in front of you. Make the comparison. Who should get more screen time? Yeeaaahhhh...obvious now, isn't it? Yeah...This was pathetic and horribly directed. Makeup was awful, lighting was off, camera angles were incorrect, etc. He really dropped the ball with this one. And before all the Zombie worshiping flamers jump on here to hound me about how much they LOOOVE the film...yeah, ok, go ahead and love it. But that does not make it good. I am not the typical Rob zombie bashing critic. I LOVE House of 1,000 Corpses, Devil's Rejects, and Halloween. But this sequel was awful. period.

the whole reason for sheri to even be in the sequal was to show that she is the one that makes michael kill she tells michael to bring her baby home.

Ok, and the horse and makeup and horrible b movie Plan 9 lighting, and overly spoken dialogue sequences....they were there for????? Right. I know why she was in the film. I am saying that there was o need to shove her into the script as he did. It is obvious he had NO REAL idea about how to incorporate her so he says..I GOT IT! Horsed, goth makeup and a car with its brights on right behind her for that cool I am a lame ass b movie director look! YEAH! it will work. He blew it. Period.

I think the movie wasn't NEARLY as bad as the slamming it got suggested. Even my own personal review was a tad harsh now that I look back on it. Sure, it wasn't SOLID

(cont.) by anybody's standards, but it was still pretty raw, which is something I appreciated. The overall feel of the movie was kind of a guilty pleasure for me, honestly. The brutality was just great fun. And the grunting, more humanized Michael also made me happy.

I loved what RZ did with this movie and best of all I won a free poster and soundtrack just for going to see it on Halloween. I'll be at the store first thing Jan 12. Tyler Mane was the scariest MM ever, he is a beast.

8:56pm, January 5, 2010

The whole damned Director's Cut was on YouTube for a few days...then yanked off. It's a much better movie, now and Scout Taylor-Compton has a couple of Oscar-worthy moments. Check-out her scene with Margot Kidder demanding her "prescription".Whoa!!haha!

my favorite scene is her arguing with annie when she tells her to get the fuck out of her room

I really hope the directors cut is better, from the looks of this version of the beginning, it looks pretty sick. Laurie falls on a bunch of dead bodies...awesome. The most brutal kill was when he stomped that dudes face in. I just wish RZ would have realized that less myers is better and I really wished that he would have never added the White horse and Sherri spirit in there...ruined the film. The ending sucked so bad. It's weird because even though the film was just short of being horrible, I found it entertaining and I never got bored watching it for some reason...then again I only watched it once at the theatres so whatevs.
