Summit Entertainment has picked up the North American distribution to the Nicolas Cage revenge movie Drive Angry, setting a release date of February 11, 2011. Angry, which is now in pre-production, centers on a man (Cage) driven by rage who is chasing the people who killed his daughter and kidnapped her baby. The vendetta/rescue spins out of control, as the chase gets bloodier by the mile, leaving bodies strewn along the highway. The project, which will be in 3-D, is being directed by Patrick Lussier (My Bloody Valentine) from a screenplay penned by Lussier and Todd Farmer.
yeah, i have to admit, even though i don't care for Cage (at all!) this sounds like a bad ass movie. i like Lussier (and Farmer). and so far Lussier is the ONLY person to use 3D in a good and not gimmicky way. so i'm definitely in for this movie. i wonder if Lussier (and Farmer will be hired again, to do H3D after this movie.
Me personally, not a fan of Lussier's MBV 3D remake. But the plot sounds like it could be cool, a little like the original "Death Race 2000". I'm down for car induced bloody mayhem.
Sounds good Cage has become a boderline Straight to DVD actor he needs a couple hits to get his career out of the National Treasure sequel run and do some new stuff!
My favorite Nicholas Cage:
-Weather Man
-Matchstick Men
-Leaving Las Vegas
-Bringing out the Dead
-8mm
-Adaptation
My least favorite...
-Anything where he's supposed to be a bad ass...
Stragely enough though... he has three upcoming films (Season of the Witch, Kick Ass, and this one, Drive Angry) where he's playing just that, but looks very good...
Least favorite - anything where he's supposed to be a bad ass. Have you fucking seen Face/Off or Con Air!?!?!?!? Or The Rock? Even though he was sorta a dork in that film, but still, great movie
Yes I've seen Face/Off and Con Air. They're terrible... The Rock is watchable, but only in that Thank God I'm not watching Transformers-Michael Bay essence.
I have to disagree con air was a kik ass film. And it made 230,000,000 worldwide as did Face/off.For 1997 that was a shit load of money. Those 2 films made over a half billion dollars. As for drive by im pretty stoked to see it although im alittle sick of the 3-D faze thats going on right now.
dont forget the other one thats coming out with him in it The Sorcerer's Apprentice and even that looks good....but Im still not a nic cage fan....idk....his voice is the worst thing about him, and Face/Off was stupid....anything with John Woo's name on the package is gonna be a pile of runny dog shit....lol
Yeah, I don't want to beat a dead horse, but box office take really doesn't prove a movie's merit... in fact, it usually does the opposite. (ahem... Transformers)
yep another flick goin 3d......i think ill pass on this. dont really like nic cage...i take that back, only decent flick i liked of his was gone in 60 seconds. and didnt care for mbv remake either so nah
