'Amityville' Heading to the USA Network!

"Variety reports that the USA Network is developing an AMITYVILLE movie, which Sony Pictures Television will produce. This project will focus on the true story of the Ronald DeFeo murders at the infamous house, which occurred prior to the alleged supernatural events that inspired Jay Anson's AMITYVILLE HORROR book and the string of subsequent features. John (DEAD BEFORE DAWN) Ireland is writing the teleplay; no word on whether Sony and USA will rush the project to get it on the air before or during the release of MGM and Dimension's AMITYVILLE HORROR remake, which is slated to open next January."
