Hell hath no fury like a scorned man with a wicked ride as Phantom Race rides onto DVD February 16 from Vivendi Entertainment and RHI Entertainment. After a fiery crash on the track between NASCAR rivals Cutter McCullough and JJ Sawyer results in the death of McCullough, everyone thinks they have seen the last of the racecar driver – but nothing can stop a man driven by revenge. Seventeen years later, Cutler and his car emerge from the grave to settle some scores with JJ and an ex-girlfriend. Not letting anyone get in the way, a frantic race for survival is underway as the Phantom Racer goes out for blood and will not rest until old rivals are turned into road kill. A Syfy Channel original movie full of murderous mayhem, PHANTOM RACER stars Nicole Eggert (“Baywatch”), Greg Evigan (“My Two Dads”), Adam Battrick (“The Bad Son”), Brenna O’Brien (“Tin Man”) and Winston Rekert (“Neon Rider”). When nurse Julia finds herself trapped inside the home of her dementia patient, she begins to suspect things are not what they seem; something demonic is seeping through the cracks of this old home. Trapped and with nowhere to turn, Julia soon finds herself in battle to rid the house of this evil before it is too late.
Dawn Ford, Emmanuelle Lussier Martinez, Bill Rowat, and Mark Antony Krupa star.
“This film depicts the most harrowing 90 minutes of our protagonist’s life, and I felt that the most visceral way to really feel this was to do a single-shot film,” O’Brien previously teased. “We are with her every step and misstep she takes – through the unraveling of the mystery to the horror of her discovery. It’s a fun, twisty roller-coaster ride that puts a new spin on exorcisms.”
Bury the Devil is the first installment in a planned trilogy. The prequel, Bury the Devil: Origin, is already in development with O’Brien returning to the helm.
O’Brien produces along with Philip Kalin-Hajdu (The Sacrifice Game) and Benoit Beaulieu (Turbo Kid).
