I hate that October is over, I really do. While the holidays are upon us, there aren't all that many DVD/Blu-ray releases hitting retailers. For those of you who were too lazy to get Gremlins on Blu-ray at Target a few weeks back, you can now pick it up everywhere. Some other additions to this weeks Horror IN Your House is the Brittany Murphy starrer Deadline a three more Silent Night, Deadly Night sequels. Check out the full list below.

Whilst wagging school, two teenagers stumble across a strange hybrid creature, a beast that is half man, half alien and ALL zombie, which has managed to make its way unseen across desolate countryside to the town of Pleasance. DEADLINE
Alice, an artist recovering from a psychological breakdown, retreats to a remote Victorian house to convalesce and focus on finishing her screenplay in time for a fast approaching deadline. When she begins hearing strange sounds and seeing apparitions, Alice searches for the source, only to find disturbing videotapes in the attic. Fascinated by her discovery, Alice digs deeper to uncover the mysterious story of the couple on the tapes, sending her on a twisting and terrifying pursuit to find out what is behind the endless mind games.
GREMILNS (Blu-ray)
A man buys a Mogwai as a Christmas present for his son. The young boy is told to keep the pet away from water, out of the light and never to feed it after midnight. Inadvertently, the creature is dampened and almost instantly, produces half a dozen furry replicas of itself --which continue to multiply and turn the small town upside-down.
KNIFE OF ICE
Martha Caldwell has been mute since a terrible accident killed her parents when she was a child. Since then she has lived with her wealthy uncle in the Spanish countryside. When Martha's cousin Jenny comes to visit, she is soon found dead. She seems to be the latest victim of a murderer who is killing pretty young girls in the area. As more and more bodies are found, people close to Martha fear that she is in danger. Is Martha the next victim, or is she somehow the reason for the killer's actions?

LITTLE RED DEVIL
Jimmy Lidell is a nobody, stealing to earn a living in a dead-end life and searching for his long lost girlfriend. When Jimmy meets Luc Tyer, a bigger-than-life underworld heavy, Luc makes him an offer he can't refuse. Jimmy accepts, but is leery about the secret motives behind Luc's willingness to teach the business. Jimmy's religious Mother suspects that Jimmy may be running with the wrong crowd, but Jimmy turns a deaf ear to her spiritual warnings. Luc soon reveals his plans to use Jimmy as his unholy servant in a deadly and bloody game of evil revenge and power while Jimmy decends further and further into a world of sinister corruption and satanic designs.

TEX SAYS: Come on! You know these films all suck, but you love them anyway! Let’s show ‘em some love and maybe Anchor Bay will get around to re-releasing Part II on DVD!

TEX SAYS: Ya know…I didn’t see this flick, but I think the reason I’m gonna boycott it, because Edward Furlong needs some quality film work and Christian Bale is just monopolizing franchises now. Let’s bring Eddie back into the game for Terminator 5! Come on…you know you wanna see that!

haha, sounds like the phantasm sequels...i've only seen part 1 so i may just pick up this box set (if it's priced like a box set full of shit sequels ought to be). AB's part 1 reissue is even OOP now! and that movie is a fuckin classic! required viewing for every holiday season. and tex, that blows about your DVD i've been down that road more than a couple of times...PUNISH! |
Tex I have to tell you that I think you're giving Edward Furlong too much credit. He's only been in two great movies (T2 and American History X), and he certainly wasn't the reason those two movies were so good. He is a pretty good actor but he's no Edward Norton. And he just looks too creepy to play a leading man part and he's too small to play an intimidating villian. Sorry Tex, mabey I'm just sore because Cruel World was such a let down. If they remade Drugstore Cowboy he would be perfect as the lead junkie. |
