Sad news this morning as word has come down that the legendary Paul Naschy has passed away after a bout with cancer. He was 75. Horror fans should know Naschy as the Spanish actor that has portrayed Dracula, the Wolf Man (12 different times in the ) Hombre Lobo franchise) and even the Hunchback. He has toplined such classics as Panic Beats , Night of the Werewolf, Rojo Sangre, The Hunchback of the Morgue, Crimson, Vengeance of the Zombies, Horror Rises from the Tomb, Count Dracula's Great Love and Werewolf VS. The Vampire Woman. Naschy also wrote, produced and even directed various horror films. Check out his official IMDB for full credits or leave your condolences at Naschy.com.

This is terribly sad news as he was such a huge and influential actor. He left behind quite a legacy and will be missed by many.

Always loved Naschy, was glad when his movies started getting re-released like 2 years ago. I'll be sure to pop on "The Loreley's Grasp" when I get home.

I heard of him, but did not know of him. But I am saddened a bit by this news. R.I.P Naschy

Wow, this is quite saddening. I've recently been really getting into Spanish cinema and have been really becoming a huge Naschy fan. Heck, even my avatar is him from Werewolf vs. The Vampire Woman. So very, very sad.

How come I dont see websites posting about the lady who was killed in the car wreck near me couple days ago? Or when my neighbor fell in the shower and caved his skull in on the edge of the tub last year? I never understood why someone deserves more attention than someone else just because they were in a movie or sang a song, they arent better than the prime minister of canada or the kid who runs the french fry machine.

This is such sad news,we lose not just an icon of spanish cinema but an important icon to horror cinema in general. R.I.P Jacinto Molina

Really, Gargus, what is your problem? One of the most prolific and influential horror actors of all time dies, and you take a horror film website to task for mourning his passing? This page is a wholly appropriate place to pay tribute to the man, since he is best known for his career as a horror actor/filmmaker. It has nothing to do with the value of his life as compared to that of anyone else who has died; it has to do with the fact that his life's work brought many people here great joy, and his passing will directly affect horror fans and the horror genre. My father-in-law died last February, but I wouldn't expect to see an obit for him on B-D, since B-D is a site dedicated to horror films and my wife's dad had nothing to do with that industry/genre. Come on, man. Let people here mourn Mr. Molina without being beaten over the head with inappropriate, mis-directed social commentary.

"How come I dont see websites posting about the lady who was killed in the car wreck near me couple days ago?" Because he's somebody that (some) horror fans know, recognise or love the work of. This guy was quite definitely Spain's biggest, if only true genre icon.

Truly sad and depressing. I was a huge fan. I remember digging thru the back room of a mom and pop video store for a beat up vhs of Horror rises from the tomb that the owner said he had ( this was waaaaay before the dvd release), found it, still have it to this day. Im waiting for the release of Hunchback of the Rue Morgue which I will now use to pay respects to a horror icon. Thanks to Jkrouskop for so elegantly stating what also needed to be said(saved me the trouble of doing it:)). R.I.P Mr. Molina, you will be missed
