In a brand new interview over at Figures.com, NECA's Head of Product Development, Randy Falk, not only answers a bunch of fan questions, but also reveals your first ever look at the Freddy Krueger figure from Warner Bros. forthcoming remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street. In addition, Dread Central got their hands on a look at an pre-burn Freddy (played by Jackie Earle Haley). There are no release plans for these figures just yet. You can check out both images below, along with some more major news.
"Yes, we have re-acquired the rights to Freddy and Jason," Falk tells Figures.com readers. "Michael Myers is not part of the New Line franchise but we do have the classic Michael Myers rights as well. We are working on figures from the remake of Nightmare on Elm Street (new Freddy Krueger pictured below) and at least two figures will be out for the release of the film with possibly more to follow. We have also begun work on a definitive classic original ANOES Freddy to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Elm Street franchise. There will be more news on both Jason and Freddy come Toy Fair."

The new Freddy is clearly going to be awesome. Real-looking... played by an awesome and creepy actor... and scary again. Let's just hope the rest of the movie can hold up.
Looks fucking awesome, Can't wait to see the remake hope it's good & they don't repeat all the classic scenes from the original and damn i really hope they don't use much CG or none at all, especially on his face they shouldn't, Also can't wait to own that kick-ass figure and the others they mentioned, hope they do release them before the film.
The orginal Krueger look with England is just such an iconic look that nothing was really going to be able to best it. Atleast not for me. It's not horrible, but it's not as good to me. Old favorites die hard I guess.
I Hate it...even though it still doesn't look as good as the film version based on what we've seen.
Not scary at all....then again this is just an action figure
I prefer freddy's Older demonic look, plus englund has the height ;p Besides freddy's a dream demon, there doesn't exactly have to be a realistic burnt look about it, but whatever...
Also, shouldn't the figure look more badly burnt? the skin doesn't look right. it's got a couple of deep holes, but thats it, it's just the texture and the fact that it's too bright. The action figure company didn't do the movie look justice
The quality of these pictures is awful - out of focus, overexposed, yada-yada. I like the fact that they are going for realism, tissue does literally melt, but I favor the original look, WIll not hold my breath.
I find it very stupid that people are saying that the new Freddy either looks good or terrible. It's a fucking toy figure. Most toy figure don't necessarily look like the person they are trying to resemble, believe me none of the Twilight figures that I have seen around the stores look like the characters. I hate using Twilight as a reference but it was the first example that popped into my head. Look as far as the figure goes it looks good. But I am waiting for a real image of Jackie as Freddy. And to all you people who are complaining about him shut up. It's a fucking figure design. Wait for the real damn image before you nag and bitch. And to everyone who says the new Freddy is going to be bad, shut up. I am so sick of people who complain about a character or movie before it even comes out. It's okay to not want to see this movie because you liked the old Freddy or it doesn't look appealing to you. But to trash Jackie and the crew, not even knowing what kind of direction he is going to take Freddy or how the crew is taking the film is rude and stupid. How can you trash a film before you see it? I swear there are to many idiots in this word. What happened to all the people who have an I.Q. higher than their shoe sizes?
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Freddy looks like a frog, Slasher Freak. Ever since we saw that final image in the trailer, I declared him to look like a frog. And by the looks of the action figure, I guess I was right. Ohhh it's Kermie Krueger! I'm so scared! Hopefully the MOVIE is good at least. Sorry, just had to vent about the way I feel about his look. Maybe his final look will be better.
I for love the NOES series. And I wish everyone would just give Platinum Dunes a chance, i mean yeah i have to admit, Freddy officially looks like something out of a fucking alien movie now. But we dont really know if the movie is gonna be worth a shit or not until we actually watch it. As far as the make up goes, 2 thumbs down
Holy shit. It's is actually laughable that people are complaining about his height. Really? Pathetic. Like his height is going to make him any more or less frightening. It's all about the performance. No one has the right to judge JEH as Freddy until the fucking film is released. As far as the look of the new Freddy, I'm digging. I like that they are going for a realistic burn look, as opposed to the fantastical witch-look of the old Freddy. They obviously aren't trying to emulate the old Freddy, probably because they know they wouldn't be able to compete. I'm happy that they are trying to steer him in a different direction without making him totally different.
First, why are people complaining about his height? It's good that he's short- different from Michael and Jason. 2,the second pic doesn't actually ook like JEH who's a bit more well, nerdy looking. 3, the burn make up looks a little boring without enough exposure.
