Earlier this morning Bloody Disgusting's Johnne Marrone took a trip to the set of Jim Mickle's (Mulberry Street) now filming Stake Land, a new vampire pic that looks quite extraordinary. During the visit, Marrone had a chance to chat with star Danielle Harris who revealed to BD that both Mos Def and Bill Moseley have joined the voice cast of Zeb de Soto's Night of the Living Dead: Origins 3D. Moseley will be playing Johnny, the same role he took on in Tom Savini's 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead. Joseph Pilato, Mike Diskint and Helen Cooper also star. On the story front, De Soto, who wrote the script with David R. Schwartz, wants to update the tale partially by bringing out the characters’ backstories and make what he called “an American-style anime.”
NOOOOOO! No. No. No. This is a terrible idea. I wish we had a time machine, so we could go back and make sure they put the goddamn copyright on the film, after they changed the title. That way Romero wouldn't have to watch his baby raped over and over, again. (not that he's been doing much better, lately) Idiots.
fuck this dumb idea.
don't associate it with the original.
the original was B&W and perfect. It seems odd to have what happened before then, look all slick and in color. Just not believable at all.
Night of the living dead origins? In 3D? With mos def? I cant even come up with sarcastic enough remark to satisfy my disdain I have for this concept. Night of the living dead doesnt need a fucking origin, let alone one made by someone else other than romero. Leave it the fuck alone, not over explaining shit sometimes is what makes it so good.
also for all doubters Origins would work mainly cause Ben was under attack before he came to the house and everyone in the house had been under attack for a when Barbra arrived that's why they were holed up in the attic. Barbra is the only person that wouldn't fit in origins since during the initial attacks she was on her way to visit her mother's grave and was none the wiser. I hope they bring back tony todd(ben in the 90's version) in some way and have a cameo by Judith O'dea(Barbra form the original) and the other surviving cast memeber especially in Ben's story since he visit a dinner originally.
There's already been a "Prequel" in comic-book form about 15 years ago and it was pretty damn good.
As mentioned earlier...what's Barbara and Johnny doing in this?
They were living their normal, boring lives when they arrived at the cemetery and there were no reports on the radio...until it was one minute too late...
If anyone wants to talk to Danielle, she's on MySpace...but she doesn't answer any messages and has great contempt for men getting all raunchy with her.
Anyway.....the artwork of the zombie looks beautiful...good luck!
good luck with this one. I hope it comes out great but highly doubt it.
