Belgian actress Cecile de France has signed to star opposite Matt Damon in Clint Eastwood's intriguing supernatural drama Hereafter for Warner Bros. The first details were revealed from the Peter Morgan penned screenplay; it tells the story of three people who are touched by death in different ways. De France, whose credits include High Tension and Russian Dolls, will portray a French journalist who has a near-death experience. Principal photography began last month on Hereafter, produced by Eastwood, Kathleen Kennedy and Robert Lorenz. Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall, Peter Morgan and Tim Moore are the exec producers. Filming will take place in Paris, London, Hawaii and San Francisco. Pic is slated for release in December 2010. What do you guys think of this news? I'm getting more and more excited. I hope there's a level of darkness to it, I really don't want it to be a straight forward drama.
I love Cecile, however this is a tough call. Spielberg being involved in any way does not give me a good feeling. I feel Eastwood has been hit or miss - mostly miss. We shall see....
I like how these really well respected and brilliant film makers are starting to get into suspense/horror. Im excited for this and Scorsese's Shutter island.
Maybe Eastwood and Spielberg will get back to their roots. Clint was in THE BEGUILED and PLAY MISTY FOR ME (which he also directed), and Spielberg's DUEL and JAWS are classics. Not to mention his work on NIGHT GALLERY...
Remember those shitty movies he made like Unforgiven, High PLanes Drifer, Pale Rider, Gran Torino, Mystic River, Million Dollar Baby, and Flags of Our Fathers/Letters From Iwo Jima? God those were awful.
million dollar baby wasnt awful!i thought that it was really good! ...geez what type of movies do u want deadlover????? i do agree with ya from letters from iwo jima dont like war type movies to me booooring!......cant wait to hear more about this
Awesome casting!High Tension is incredible! And you must be a terroist to hate on Eastwood.
