At this week's American Film Market, Aspect Film Ltd provided Bloody Disgusting with a look at the sales art and long synopsis for Brian Metcalf's Fading of the Cries, which stars the rockin' cast of Brad Dourif, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Elaine Hendrix, Mackenzie Rosman, Hallee Hirsh, Jessica Morris and Jordan Matthews. Check everything out below.

"Evil is resurrected in a small town threatening to destroy mankind and the only force that can stop it is a young man wielding a powerful sword.

Jacob (Jordan Matthews), a young man armed with a deadly sword, saves Sarah (Hallee Hirsh), a teenage girl, from Mathias (Brad Dourif), a malevolent evil that has begun plaguing a small farmland town while in search of an ancient necklace that had belonged to Sarah's Uncle (Thomas Ian Nicholas).

Jacob sets out to get Sarah home safely, running through streets, fields, churches and underground tunnels, while being pursued by hordes of demonic creatures. Along the way, both come to terms with the demons within themselves - Sarah begins to understand her hatred towards her mother (Elaine Hendrix) and sister (Mackenzie Rosman) may be unjustified and Jacob discovers the secrets of his past, realizing the only way to truly defeat the demons is to return to the very place his family was murdered."

I have mixed feelings, but hey, it's only based on a trailer. Seems like a lame cross between Children of the Corn, Highlander, and Warlock. But if the effects are actually good (too hard to tell from Internet clips), might be worth checking out. I agree that it's at least a little different than the many exorcism/zombie/vampire/revenge/slasher/end-of-the-world type movie clips we've seen here lately.

being at fango and dcon i know that this is not only original but an epic piece. the effects are immensely incredible on a big screen. this is gonna be the best movie of 2010 no exceptions. trust me.

Okay, this has gotta be Brad Dourif's best film role in years. Finally, the first original film in years! It looks so epic!!! I'm getting a little tired of all the remakes.

Now that I see this, it looks way cooler than I originally imagined. I agree with Edgetwist, very nice imagery indeed.

OK loathesomefool ... I trust your answer on the special effects and the movie itself from someone who actually saw it! Sounds like I'll have to check it out. And I love Brad Dourif ... with the long hair and role it still reminds me of Julian Sands from Warlock. But that's not a bad thing, as I loved that movie.

MetalMike, you can't tell? All movies have good and bad FX. Case in point, GI Joe had some great imagery and some really bad imagery. I'm sure it'll be the same with this. But this film rocks, and its certainly not the first time Brad Dourif has had long hair in a film way before Warlock. WTF?

Unfortunately I wasn't able to make fango con this year but was in Atlanta for DragonCon which exceeded my expectations 10 fold. I saw their last panel which made my entire week and trip worthwhile. It's just good to know that there are movies being done at this level these days. They seem to come along very rarely but it makes all the difference. In regards to the vfx, I would compare it to star wars. Can you imagine seeing star wars on a small screen. It's indeed so much better on a big screen, making the experience larger than life. Only thing that pissed me off is that I only got to see this trailer once. This film is just plain awesome. Fan for life.

not many movies come to mind that have this much action. theres "Aliens" but this is more in league with lord of the rings in a few ways with the epic battle in the fields of Mordor and so on.
