Vincent Cassel (Eastern Promises, Irréversible), Winona Ryder (Beetle Juice, Dracula, Edward Scissorhands, Alien: Resurrection), and Barbara Hershey (The Entity) will join Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis in Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan, reports /Film. Swan centers on a veteran ballerina (Portman) who finds herself locked in a competitive situation with a rival dancer, with the stakes and twists increasing as the dancers approach a big performance. But it's unclear whether the rival is a supernatural apparition or if the protagonist is simply having delusions.
Nice to see Winona Ryder will be out with a new film. She certainly ages well. The story sounds interesting and with veteran actress Barbara Hershey in it with Natalie Portman, this has peaked my interest.
Thanks for the news, as usual.
Yes! Winona is my favorite actress and on a recent interview she said she has been getting lots of horror offers but she has turned them down. Anyways, this plot made me think of SUSPIRIA b/c Portman was rumored to be in that aswell.
I remember hearing about a Suspiria remake planned with Portman to star, but is this it? It doesn't sound like the exact same thing but it sure sounds a lot like it.
yeah, this definitely sounds like a Suspiria remake with a couple of things changed. for some reason i think this IS it. it'd be odd for Portman (or any actress) to do 2 movies close together with virtually the same plotlines/elements.
By the way, I know it's not horror, but what the fuck's going on with Darren Aronofsky’s Robocop sequel announced years ago? Dumped maybe?
