loved the first movie. old school effects and campiness, plus kane hodder gets some work. lol. always good.

If it werent for the whole 90 seconds Tony Todd was in the original I wouldnt have liked it at all. Was boring, overly cliched, the overly black black guy got on my nerves immensly, the two stupid bimbos got on my nerves, the nerdly main guy trying to get the down dressed chick got on my nerves, his beer swilling college friends got on my nerves, the directing was nothing special and the whole thing stank of a slightly higher budget movie some guys made and trying to sell at horror conventions. I have no interest in a sequel to it. I love lower budget horror, I love practical effects, I love non mainstream horror movies but only when they are good and hatchet wasnt good. Yeah it was campy, but the problem is it was trying to be campy, it was trying to force camp into it and that doesnt work. Movies that are campy and good are from a bygone era and they werent trying to be that way, they just turned out that way.

I hated the original I laughed when Hatchet face first showed up; I was like is this a fucking joke? It could of been so much better if they had actually tried to make him scary and not like a sketch comedy character. Some of the gore was great and all but couldn't save this flick.

I LOVED THIS MOVIE!!!! I CANT WAIT FOR 2!!!!

Come on, anyone who didn't like this movie clearly didn't understand the fact it was supposed to be cheesy, over the top, throw back to old school slasher films. Great movie

Fucking Awsome the first one was a FUN FUN movie..Gargus I don't think it was meant to be taken as an oscar winner.

Cheesy is one thing. But as an homage/parody, Hatchet was the "Disaster Movie" of the slasher genre. Nothing in it was funny. The characters were annoying, the cameos utterly wasted. For a slasher homage/parody, you're better off watching The Rise of Leslie Vernon. I hope to god this poster isn't real, it looks incredibly fake.

I thaught Hatchet was pretty crappy...Kane Hodder is overrated, but at least he's better in Hatchet instead of FT13th VII - X where he's nothing but a heavy breathing muscle head brute ;p Jason in FT13th 3 and IV was the greatest and own Kane Hodders performances. Anyways, I'll still check this one out...but the shitty comedy, characters and music from the first was a huge turn off

THANK YOU, GOD! Hatchet is by far my favorite slasher movie ever and I have been waiting for Victor Crowley to return and show the real horror fans how it's done after watching the other slasher icons go to shit with the remakes of Halloween, Friday the 13th, and Texas Chainsaw the Beginning. But I'll say it right now- if the rumors are true and Adam Green is really walking away from this franchise... we could be in trouble. If you read these boards, Mr. Green- please, please, please come back for Hatchet 2! There is no Hatchet without you.

IMDB has Adam Green only listed as an executive producer and NOT as the writer or the director. Ugh. This is a bittersweet day. Yay for Hatchet 2- but no Green? Really?!

Loved Hatchet, but i hope they make Victor scarier this time :D

I thought the first one was cheap and lame. I know many enjoy comedy/horror films, but they very rarely turn out well done and result in being annoying. I see no need for this film, but seeing that so many like it, I hope that doesn't influence too many other films to where we see alot of these types of films.

I doubt this will be out next year.
