AFM '09: Promo Trailer for Twisted Pictures' 'The Tortured'!

From the producers of the multi-million-dollar Saw horror franchise comes a story torn from today’s news headlines, The Tortured, which follows a young mother (Erika Christensen) and her husband (Jesse Metcalf) who decide that the criminal justice system hasn’t adequately punished the man who kidnapped their son. They formulate a diabolical plan to exact their own revenge, and slowly realize that the best way to relieve their pain is to inflict some. How far will they go before “justice is served...?” Check out the first trailer for the film below. Bill Moseley also stars in the pic directed by Rob Lieberman (Fire in the Sky).

All I can say is...ehh. I mean I know that the trailer they show in theaters won't have all the cussing and what not (yes I used what not because, unlike most people, it's fun using more than 25% of my brain) but it looks, although entertaining, very generic. It just too me looks like a course between Last House on the Left and something along the lines of Death Sentence, where the guy did something bad to mommy and daddy's child and they are pissed because the legal system sucks, which it truthfully does in my opinion, and they want their own revenge. Wow I just summed up the plot line didn't I? All in all, it looks like it will be a very entertaining film by what the trailer showed, but nothing about it looks original to me. So will I go see it...as of right now...I don't know.

agree with DeAtH. looks generic. mix of LHotL and 7 Days that i just watched the trailer for. although 7 Days seems to be a lot less generic and much more feeling put into it.

I want to see this, Looks like it could be a good film, I hope it will end up in theaters in a wide release not just limited or direct to DVD, any film with Bill Moseley in i will see.

I can't help but compare this to Law Abiding Citizen, which makes this look amateurish by comparison, from the handling of the trailer (which was fine until the "I want him dead" moment) to the plot device they use so the parents can get ahold of their child's killer. The casting seems a bit off too. Watching some pretty boy torture Bill Moseley I can't help but think this would work better with older and more capable actors in as the parents.

another cookie cutter revenge film. The helmet song they use as a very good riff for films but the song is about suicide.

Well that just spoiled pretty much the whole movie. Looks crappy. Digital cinematography sucks.

The casting bothers me...Erika and Jesse Metcalf. I know they are like in their late 20's already but I don't see them as a couple. The movie looks nothing special...very generic. But I'll see it anyways.

I see we've figured out what's taken over the "Japanese ghost-revenge remakes" market.

Different cast would of been better especially the couple they need to be older and maybe less in the trailer would of been good.....I can't really remember a good film like this were the child is abducted.....but twisted pictures wants to a quick buck I guess.

HorrorFan101

It has the premise as Death Sentence.

True HorrorFan101, and also The Last House on the Left. But I am definitely going to see this. And geez, enough with the word "generic" it gets tiring after a while.

This looks very generic. Like very VERY generic. I don't like generic movies, so I won't give this generic trash a watch. Too generic for my taste. ...generic
