To go along with our casting news from set, beyond the break you'll find the first ever image of Kiele Sanchez from the set of Sony Stage 6's 30 Days of Night: Dark Days, which is currently lensing in Vancouver, Canada under the direction of Ben Ketai. Rhys Coiro, Mia Kirshner, Harold Perrineau, Kiele Sanchez, Diora Baird, Rhys Coiro, Monique Ganderton, Marco Sorian, Katherine Isabelle all star in the sequel to the adaptation from Steve Niles.

"It’s been a year since the Alaskan town of Barrow’s population was decimated by vampires during its annual month long sunset. Riddled with grief over the death of her husband, bound by nightmares and void of all emotions beyond hate and sorrow, Stella (Sanchez) has spent the past months traveling the world, trying to convince others that vampires exist. Met with skepticism and laughter, Stella is ready to throw in the towel when a group of lost souls (Coiro, Baird and Perrineau) offers an incredible opportunity: the chance to exact revenge upon Lilith (Kirshner), the vampire queen responsible for the assault on her sleepy Alaskan town. With nothing remaining to live for, and nothing left to fear, Stella joins their mission and ventures into the uncharted underbelly of Los Angeles where she pushes herself to the most extreme limits to stop the evil from striking again."

I am sorry but the only way this could have been good is with Melissa George, now its just another lame horror flick

I loved the first one, but is it going to be as good a concept in the middle of LA? And maybe they should change the title, unless for some reason they do actually have 30 days of night in LA for some reason...

Hmm, probably should have re-read that... Oh well...

Wow, this movie is moving quick.I wish it would go to theaters but I personally feel like this movie wasn't really popular with mainstream audiences.

It looks very DTV. That being said, I'd be ashamed to ask the original director back now that he's gone onto doing a Twilight movie. How the guy could go from something as unorthodox as Hard Candy to something as derivative and uninspired as Twilight is beyond me.

I love how so many people on here just leave comments to talk shit. I'm still going to give the film a chance, I enjoyed the first. Its amazing how so many people failed to take note of the simple fact that the vampires in 30 Days of Night were actually ugly rather than perfect, pasty, runway models. That alone makes it worth while.

the first one is amazing.. this one.. not so excited

I'm not excited for this one at all. Looks like any other Vampire flick out there, it seems to have lost its "horror"and replaced it with "hot vamps & lots of martial arts". I hope the trailer is good.

SERIOUSLY?! Why is it that L.A. (though a shithole) is the center in so many films? Please! The world is a big place. Be more original Hollyweird! And if we're talking about Lilith here, why is she not in an ancient place that is secure and guarded by her kind? Like L.A. is a good place to stay under the radar? Don't insult my intelligence! I went from excited to disappointed real quick with this film. What a shame.

I really wanted them to make a sequel as I love the books, but with no one, not even Melissa George (what else is she doing to make her too busy?), returning then I have my reservations. And the girl in that pic above looks typical Hollywood!

Bad pic, looks b-grade. Why do they always get bimbos who can't act for these movies? The way the blood looks is cheesy and lame. Been done to death, time to move on.

Kiele Sanchez rocks.

The same people who are hating on this movie are at home jerking off to the Saw franchise. Lames.

i agree that Kiele Sanchez is excellent. don't get me wrong, i would've LOVED to have the awesome Melissa back but we're in good hands with Kiele (see A PERFECT GETAWAY she was really good in that!). i DO agree that LA is tired, boring, used up as far as settings go (and i say that having spent 8 years there! LOL). whenever i hear a movie is taking place in LA it quells much of my excitement for the project. that being said, i'm looking forward to this. also, how can anyone say this looks bad going by 1 freaking pic?!

djblack1313
1:11pm, November 7, 2009

and i just realized it looks like Kiele is using the same kukri knives Milla's ALICE uses in RE:EXTINCTION and AFTERLIFE!! cool!

No Melissa George? LA Setting? doesn't sound great does it?, but stranger things have happened

'The same people who are hating on this movie are at home jerking off to the Saw franchise.' - That is an idiot statement, Grime. People are allowed to have an opinion different to yours. And personally I don't like the Saw franchise, though I fail to see its relevance here.

Remember Slithis?
10:13pm, November 7, 2009

I loved the first one but it didn't seem like it did well enough for a true theatrical sequel I hope it goes to theaters but we will see!Even if it goes to direct dvd I'll still see it.Saw is an overrated franchise to me but to be fair I haven't seen the last two in the series and I hear the new one is redeemable addition to the series. So Grime you go jerk off to your Twilight posters.

I agree, Directly to DVD. The first one sucked (opinion, everyone has got one). Thats like an hour and a half I'll never get back.
