BD Review: Buyer Beware of 'The Fourth Kind'
Friday, November 6, 2009

I'm dreading the user reviews for Universal Pictures' The Fourth Kind, a film I have a gut feeling is going to disappoint most of you. While I expect your rage this weekend, you can read my review by clicking the title above. "If your mind is in the right place, THE FOURTH KIND is a chilling, creepy, unnerving and engaging experience. But I stress the idea that most of you probably will not like this...Buyer beware." Don't forget to write your own review and tell all of BD what YOU thought!

I knew it was gonna be bad. For god's sake it has Mila in it. If you think she is a good actress then you probably think Brian Bosworth should have won an academy award for Stone Cold. Why not just use this "supposed" real footage why recreate it, and play it along with Mila's amazing acting ability? Big boo-erns on that movie.

Milla RULES. Mic, i respect the fact you don't like Milla or her acting, no problem. personally i adore her. thank god we are all allowed to have DIFFERENT likes and dislikes. one not being the right one over the other. right? :) i'm still seeing this. i never base what movies i want to see based on a "review". and, no offense BD, but it's been if BD doesn't like it or hates the movie, i usually will end up liking it. BD is the one who swore in review for ILS that it was the scariest movie in like 10 years or something and i went out and blind bought it and it wasn't really good (IMO) at all.

Out of everyone on here djblack1313 you have been the one I've talked to the most and respect the most. Yes I agree we are all entitled to our opinions, and if you end up thinking its great please let me know.

I love Milla too, djblack. She may not be the world's most gifted actor, but hell if she's not commited to our genre. I thought this looked pretty promising, as there simply aren't enough movies dealing with alien abduction. Though it was fairly evident from the trailers that this film wasn't likely to make with the aliens, I'll probably still see it.

This is also the site that hyped Trick r' Treat.

I dunno, ive heard quite good things about this. Mr D seems to be getting a little out of touch, what with the reviews going downhill plus his recent rantings up from his high horse.I hope this changes becouse ive been coming here for a long time and until recently thought the reviews and posts were always enjoyable and mainly well written.

I'm on the fence about this one. I was pretty excited about it until the flood of negative reviews poured in. I liked "Fire in the Sky" and all, but I dunno...

I think people need to read the actual review before they start ripping apart Mr D. He says buyer beware because the average movie goer won't like it, not that it's a bad movie or that he himself won't like it. So just try and get the facts before you, yourself, get up on your high horse. With that said, I'm still going to the movie. One of the things I pride myself in is that I go into movies open-minded without expecting anything one way or another. So I'm not going to expect some crazy freaky, "true" story. I also am on the fence with the idea of aliens so I guess I can go into with an open mind (which in the end is what Mr D is saying is required). So hopefully it'll be good. Luckily I have a theater here in columbus that has new movies for only $3.50 as opposed to the normal, over-priced $10.00

I wasnt really talking about this review especially , just a past ones and posts. A little misplaced maybe but i stand by what i said about the site going downhill a little. Im pretty sure im entitled to an opinion.

Irish Mic, i agree. you've been one of the normal, rational and cool people posting on this site! :) i will admit that i've been hearing not so great things about this but i'm kinda easy to please sometimes on movies! LOL. i LOVE Linda Blair's SAVAGE STREETS for crying out loud! LOL. so this might be my Citizen Kane (compared to SAVAGE). lol.

Funny how this guy just shoots it down. I saw a pre-screening last week, and I have to say it was more intense than I thought it would be. Couldn't get much sleep when I got back from the theater. I'm not a big fan of this "Paranormal Activia" genre. But I did like this one enough to go see it again today. ☻☻☻☺☺

I just came home from the theater....I'm terrified. I haven't been that scared since Signs

It was better then Paranormal Activity.

I hope it's good, the subject matter is so creepy and interesting that I'm sure I'll be entertained

It just doesn't peak my interest because of the format of interviews and the 'found footage' stuff, Milla playing a psychiatrist, etc. Fire in the Sky worked because it was on a personal level of an ordinary person getting abducted and Communion worked because it was just plain normal and bizarre at the same time. I just don't see how this could be any good.

The thing that got me the most was they don't show aliens (except for the owl)and it still scared the shit out of me. It's real and creepy as hell. And Milla did a fantastic job :)

This movie was INCREDIBLE!! Truly terrifying, completely blew Paranormal outta the water!! The acting was great, the video they show was beyond creep factor!! Must see, I suggest people go and see this movie!!

Let me guess. Everyone dies. That's the way all these home-cam, docu-films go. The writers aren't smart enough to figure out an ending, so everyone dies. Yawn. Fart.

Nope, they don't.

They did a good job. I liked it.

!0000X better than PA. Infinitely. No stupid moronic characters making stupid moronic comments for the audience to laugh at. This was scary as hell if you even slightly believe in Aliens. I was shaking by the end and my hairs on my arms were standing on end. If I ever see an owl outside my house I will freak the hell out. Very good movie.

Just saw this... Sure, a few creepy scenes, but other than that, a simply terrible film in every aspect. I don't even know where to start, terrible editing and direction, the woman that plays the 'real' Dr. abigail emily tyler delivers her lines horribly, and the concept of the victims being in a possessed like state while remembering their experiences was just ridiculous. The only part i liked was the actual true information about the Sumerians, but i can just look that information up here on this jewel called the internet. You can tell the director had good intentions, but this subject is ridiculed and laughed at because the government and media discredits people that have seen UFO's, so to make a movie this terrible just adds to that already bad reputation. If you want to listen to actual compelling evidence that life exists elsewhere, then look up the Disclosure Project!!

Is it realy that bad?
