AFM '09: 'Toxic Avenger 5: The Toxic Twins' Promo Art

Short but sweet news from the AFM as we scored a look at the promo poster art for Troma's The Toxic Avenger 5: The Toxic Twins (teased in the finale of IV), which also confirms that it will once again be helmed by Lloyd Kaufman. The original 1986 film told the story of Melvin, the Tromaville Health Club mop boy, who inadvertently and naively trusts the hedonistic, contemptuous and vain health club members, to the point of accidentally ending up in a vat of toxic waste. The devastating results then have a transmogrification effect, his alter ego is released, and the Toxic Avenger is born, to deadly and comical results. The local mop boy is now the local Superhero, the saviour of corruption, thuggish bullies and indifference. Troma classic with good make-up effects and stunts, a pleasant surprise indeed.

When I saw IV, and read that it was supposed to be the best in the series, I lost pretty much all of my faith in Kaufman. Usually I give a series a couple movies to officially suck, but have have very little hope for this one.

Don't advertise Toxie Twins without showing twins. Where's the logic in that?

Troma is one of the best middle fingers to Hollywood period. There movies are Indie classics.Surf Nazi's must Die!,Class of Nuke'em High,Mothers Day,Christmas Evil,Cannibal The Musical,Chopper Chicks In Zombietown,Sgt.Kabukiman,Poultrygeist, and the Toxie films. And yes there all intentionally bad that's what makes them good.

Sweet shit, i am a big Troma fan, The first Toxic avenger film is great, parts 2 and 3 are pretty bad and 4 is watchable, but a little over the top, and if you haven't watched other troma films you won't get alot of the gags in part 4, but i am excited to see what Lloyd Kaufman brings to the table this time, becuase Poultrygeist was just amazing!!

Terror Firmer is freakin awesome! I loved Part 1-3, 4 was ok..this will be just fine, but .. that poster looks like its part 1 remade to be part 5.... nothing special.

Hay at least Troma has original idears... well in there own way...to put it short we should be saying fuck you to hollywood and let Troma take over the world....But I also understand Troma movies are not for everyone. But I would take Toxie 5 over a stupid 3D horror movie and/ or a horror remake any day...
