Straight in from the Screamfest Horror Film Festival comes BC's review of Lionsgate's Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever, which is said to arrive on DVD in February. "Shelved for years, disowned by its director, and lacking the involvement of original creator Eli Roth, there wasn’t very much to expect out of Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever. But damned if it didn’t actually turn out to be a worthy follow-up, with even more disgusting body part-related deaths, a game cast, and a tone that never veers off wildly into a more serious direction..." Well, this is the first time I've actually been interested in CF2. Ti West has good reason to be pissed, but maybe the end result will still be worth watching...

The only problem I had with the original Cabin Fever were the goofy scenes (and especially the goofy cop character). If it'd played it straight, it'd be a true classic. If the sequel is aiming for laughs, I think I'm out. The idea of a horrible virus taking people out is a good one, and it deserves more respect than yet another splatstick wink wink mess.

The flesh-eating virus part is actually kind of scary, but it's ruined by the humor :(

i feel the same about the humor, but i kinda like how off it was from the grusome factor. i HOpe the second one is good.
