During my chat with Richard Kelly today regarding his latest film The Box, he revealed his hopes for his latest project, in which it looks like he might be going all James Cameron on us. “I’m working on my new script, I’m probably on the eighth draft of it right now, and I’ve just kinda been waiting for 'The Box' to come out to see if I can get [the project] off the ground," Kelly told BD in an exclusive interview. “It’s a thriller set in Manhattan in the year 2014. We hope to shoot the movie in 3-D, and part of the movie would be filmed using full CGI motion capture.” Sounds nifty. Let’s just hope that if it does come to fruition, it doesn’t take as long as Avatar to make it to the big screen.
Richard had better hope and pray that The Box is a hit (PS, it won't be) because after Southland Tales and now this, people have forgotten about how Donnie Darko made him a known name. He'll become known as the "one hit wonder" guy from the early 2000s.
BD, can you do me (and MANY of us) a favor when you are interviewing a director/studio/producer (like in this interview)? would you ask the person if they are aware that SO many of us HATE 3D or at least are already getting burnt out or are WAY past that point? i'm not being sarcastic at all when i ask you to respectfully ask the subject this question. i'd seriously love to know if they give a shit or not.
The camera guys elbow is in 3D!!!!!!!!He has tiny hands like the guy in a hamburger chain commercial.
