Unconfirmed reports are flooding the web that Tobe Hooper - director of the infamous, groundbreaking original film - is in talks to get behind the camera for the forthcoming The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D. While these reports were once true, sources close to Bloody Disgusting tell us that is no longer the case. In fact, there are talks of moving the franchise over to Lionsgate. Twisted Pictures have currently been hearing various pitches and nothing has been decided as of yet. Watch this spot for official, confirmed news when it's announced.

So we're now making re-makes of re-makes? Whatever happened to producing original material????

Why don't they just leave Leatherface & his clan alone? If Hooper is involved in this in any way the respect that I have for him & his films (A GREAT RESPECT)! will be tossed into the gutter & I will mourn his passing as a (Once) great filmmaker.

Eat a dick already. It's a movie people, fuck it, who cares, long as Leatherface is sawing people in half, who gives a flying fuck about anything else? The original was great, 2, 3 & 4 sucked, Remake was tolerable and The Beginning was amazing. Long as Leatherface is fuckin people up, thats all that matters. However, they need R Lee Emery back again

Hollywood has the fresh ideas, but as long as people keep going out in droves to see remakes, Hollywood's gonna keep making em.

What more could you do with LeatherFace that we (as fans of the originals and the remakes) have'nt already seen?

I'M officially numb to remakes, prequels, and 3D.Nothing surprises me any more. The beginning had some good parts but how many pointless rape scenes do we need in horror films.I'd rather see pointless T&A were horny teens get slayed. The Original is still the best.Tobe Hooper has been putting out pure crap films of late.So I hope he can rejuvenate his career and this franchise again.

Thank god! Between New Line and Michael "D-BAG" Bay they've screwed this series up enough. I'm glad it's going to another company. Really wish Tobe would bring it back home tho.

Because characters who are pathetic enough to rape a woman is more demented and realistic then just a bucha high school kids running around naked being chased by some masked killer. This isn't the 80s anymore

I loved part 2! Dennis Hopper and Caroline Williams were great. And Chop Top was a creepy character added to the mix. Tobe did a great sequel there. Part 3 was boring and not well planned. Part 4 was just plain horrible. I liked the remake and its prequel a lot as well. The best things Platinum Dunes has produced to date for horror fans. Not sure what more they can do from here though? R. Lee Emery got run over with the car and Leatherface got his arm chopped off.

how can anyone say they didnt like part 2? it was directed by Tobe Hooper and had Dennis Hopper, Bill Moseley, and Caroline WIlliams. part 3 was meh, and part 4 was garbage. but so was the remake with eric balfour and r lee.

I'm not opposed to making another TCM, but where can the story go would be my question ? They did the sequel and prequel. DAYSFAN79 is right. Leatherface is missing an arm. Unless they start over, where can they go?

Remember Slithis?
3:58pm, November 2, 2009

No one got raped in the original! There also wasn't T&A.It was more disturbing and demented and realistic. The rape scene in the Hills Have Eyes added to the intensity of the film. The one in the Tcm: The Beginning added nothing to the film or the depravity of the characters.I thought it was an easy way out for shock value over substance.Besides that scene I thought the film was still very good.

Plus I'd rather watch a woman enjoying sex not being brutally raped.

That's a really great pic of Leatherface...I've never seen that one before. :o)

Love all the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies... each one is different in its own way. I am hoping for a new take on the story, a more modern one would be awesome.. If they change it up a bit it with some cool deaths, and wild characters it would be awesome...

tarman82

this may sound crazy but i think Rob Zombie would do wonders with a Texas Chainsaw movie, I think his "redneck" touch would be awesome, it would truly be a modern twist on the original, he would make it disgusting vile and unapoligetic he could make the whole film feel real uneasy and I'm sure his idea of Leatherface would be awesome, though I admit nothing made now or in the future will ever touch Tobe Hoopers original.

OMG i have been waiting for years to finally hear news of a 3rd TCM to come out, Texas chainsaw massacre remake and beginning are my 2 top fav films of all time i love those films plus i love the original too but damn i wish they would keep it at new line but oh well, though i do hope its a sequel and not a remake already, i mean its only going to be 7 years old next year, WTF?, also i hope they keep the same actors and characters plus Andrew Bryniarski as leatherface, he is the best leatheface of all, either way I'm all game for another TCM as long as they dont FUCK it up, TCM & LEATHERFACE KICKS ASS. period.

MurderCapital

I love the original TCM, but it's also the only one worth seeing, bringing Hooper back wouldn't change shit as he made the stupid and pointless sequel... Just let it be.
