Pinhead Confirmed to Be Returning in 3D

In a new article over at Variety regarding the Short Circuit remake, they confirm some pretty old news that Dimension Films' remake of Hellraiser will in fact be filmed in 3-D. They also report that the full title is Clive Barker's Hellraiser, and also bring Scanners back into conversation. Scanners is in development hell after David Goyer penned the last draft. The Hellraiser reboot has already seen its fair share of directors (Alexandre Bustillo, Julien Maury, Pascal Laugier) attached to bring Pinhead back to the big screen. Dimension Films is also developing Scream 4 and a remake of John Landis' classic An American Werewolf in London.

It's sad that these headlines are so many that I don't even have the energy to get mad at it. This sounds awful.

The only movie that they have that I actually want to see in 3d is Piranha. Anywho, so I guess this means Dinension's not going under after all. Not that I'm all gung ho for remakes, but I was curious to see what it would have been like for Bousman to do the Scanners remake.

hm, i can understand the 3D effect being used for Friday the 13th part 2 and Halloween 3 but Hellraiser? Hellraiser isn't some campy movie and while maybe it would be slightly cool to see some chains flying out at you but in the end i think it would hurt the quality of the film, its got too much of a story to be focusing on 3D effects.

Hey movie studio knuckleheads, stop taking a collective dump all over good horror. Comprende? Or do I have to remake my comment in 3D for you to get it?

Gotta admit, the first two 'Hellraiser' films are a guilty pleasure of mine, but all of the sequels after that just completely ruined something that wasn't all that great to begin with (if that makes any sense). I have to say that I find it absolutely disgusting that nearly every classic horror film as well as any classic film for that matter has either already been remade, or is next in line. But the studio exects aren't stopping there. It isn't enough that they're simply remaking these films to cash in anymore, but now they have to remake them all in 3D. What is with this new 3D trend Hollywood seems to be completeley cought up in ? At the rate all these films are going 3D, you'd think James fucking Cameron was directing them. Now back to 'Hellraiser'. Like I said , the first two were the only ones I liked, yet those weren't even all that good to begin with, and the 500 other sequels (the last couple direct to video/DVD) just reaked. I like the concept of 'Hellraiser', but I don't think it ever reached it's full potential, so on that note maybe this should be remade, but only on the condition that Clive Barker himself directs, otherwise I don't see much of a piont because I can't think of anyone who can do a film like this better than him. He created the entire fucking thing from his own fucked up imagionation for crying out loud !

3 D should be used for campy horror like Piranha or Final Destination.Hellraiser is more of a dark ambiance with gore and psychological terror.I don't see this translating to 3D Properly.I guess Hollywood thinks 3D stands for 3 dollars more at the box office.Horror fans get used to it cause until the product loses them money were stuck wearing these cheap ass glasses.

count me in too. STOP WITH THE 3D BULLSHIT STUDIOS!!!!!!! go make kids movies which are perfect for 3D to keep kids attention and so forth. STOP TREATING THE HORROR COMMUNITY LIKE WE'RE IDIOTS WHO NEED 3D TO "FOCUS". and PLEASE DO NOT make H3 or F132 in 3D (or UNDERWORLD 4 or...i could go on and on...).

I'm excited for a Hellraiser remake. it would be great if Barker could direct. And who cares if it's in 3D. Imagine the fantastic visuals!!! Horror fans are never satisfied. First they bitch about sequels, then remakes, then shaky cam, now 3D. Jesus , get over it.

When are you guys going to realize that 3D is the new "Color" or "High Def" or "Surround Sound" ...... its doesn't have to mean that everything is going to pop out of the screen like a gimmick, it just adds a new dimension to the viewing. Not to mention we are finally getting a new high budget Hellraiser instead of the straight to Syfy shit that we have been getting

I can't decide which will be scarier, Hellraiser in 3D...or the Short Circuit remake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll admit that I would love to see a proper Hellraiser remake but WTF are they thinking about remaking An American Werewolf in London? Not cool Weinsteins, not cool.

Dead Mildred

Im over this goddamn fad. I fucking hate the Weinsteins. I hope their companies go fucking bankrupt so that a studio that knows what its doing can pick up these franchises and take them in the right direction.

White Shadow...you're bitching about how the first two weren't really that good and then saying they would be better if Clive Barker directed them. Well, he did direct the first one, so how in the hell can you bitch about it and then want him to direct another? They are both classics, actual intelligent, thinking man's horror unlike most of the shit that passes itself off as horror.
