Interview: 'The Loved Ones' Director Sean Byrne

One of the best films I saw this year is Sean Byrne's The Loved Ones, which premiered at the "Midnight Madness" portion of the Toronto International Film Festival. This past week we posted our exclusive one-on-one chat with the director about his Australian horror thriller that can be read by clicking here. Brent, a 17 year old student, still grieving for his father, declines an invitation to the school formal from Lola, the quietest girl in school. When Lola and her father kidnap Brent he must fight to survive the macabre celebration they have in store for him.

I remember during TIFF they were having a hard time selling tickets for the loved ones, I had on the other hand had mine early. I couldn't figure out why people didn't want to see it (eventually they offered 4 for 1 tickets). Anyways, I went in expecting a good movie and came out blasted. It was such a treat and like Sean said they crowd loved it. Keep it on your lists folks.
