So, You Downloaded ‘Paranormal Activity’….

Are you kidding me? Based on the numerous e-mails, forum comments and Twitter, it has come to my attention that quite a few of you have been downloading Paranormal Activity and watching it on your computer. While I’m not here to preach to you about the wrongs of downloading a movie, I am here to tell you that you that you are not seeing the movie the way it was meant to be experienced. I have also seen a DVD screener, almost two years ago, and it’s not nearly as effective on your home TV. The screener that you are watching (and so eloquently bashing (sense the sarcasm)) is an old cut of the film, with an old ending, rearranged scenes and a horrible mono sound mix. One of the most important factors of the film is seeing it in a theater with booming sound. Watching it on your computer or home TV will NOT give you the same effect. In fact, I’m pretty sure I’m never going to even watch it on Blu-ray/DVD. It’s a theatrical experience, and that’s that. So whatever, go ahead and steal the movie, but you’re only hurting yourself.
