With the Screamfest premiere looming tomorrow (details), and a limited theatrical release beginning on October 30th, we caught up with The House of the Devil writer/director Ti West, along with the beautiful starlet Jocelin Donahue for an exclusive video interview. In the vid below we talk about the process of making a slow-paced thriller, the inspiration of the 80's and about the improve dance sequence that will enchant the lot of you. If you need to see Devil immediately, all you have to do is log into Xbox Live or check out OnDemand, the Devil awaits you as we speak.
"Set in the 1980s and based on true, unexplained events, THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL stars the sexy Jocelin Donahue as cash-strapped college student Samantha Hughes, who takes a babysitting job in a remote mansion with her good friend Megan (Greta Gerwig, BAGHEAD). She’s desperate for money and the pay is good, but something feels wrong, and Samantha quickly realizes that the girls are trapped. As a lunar eclipse darkens the night sky, Samantha finds that her employers—cult favorites Tom Noonan (MANHUNTER) and Mary Woronov (ROCK AND ROLL HIGH SCHOOL)—don’t have a baby at all, and have something truly terrifying in store for them."
Thanks for interview with this incredibly young and hip director, who actually is well seasoned in 70's/80's horror. It truly had that vintage horror vibe to it. I music was even creepy.
Scurgar, I watched it on my Xbox. For some reason they had it on their feature films earlier this month. Thoght that was kinda strange. I dug the shit out of it though. It is slow, but I too really like a slow build up.
