'The Crow' Reboot Moving Forward?

A source close to the production exclusively revealed to Comics2Film that Stephen Norrington's current draft of The Crow reboot has been "very well received" by Relativity Media. According to their source, the project is moving forward and attention will now turn to casting the film. If this is true, expect some announcements within the next few weeks, along with a planned 2011 release. In the comics, a man brutally murdered comes back to life as an undead avenger of his and his fiancée's murder. Earlier this year Norrington told Variety, "[Alex] Proyas’ original was gloriously gothic and stylized, the new movie will be realistic, hard-edged and mysterious, almost documentary-style."

I agree with you SpikeGhost 100%!!!!! I AM GOING TO IGNORE THIS REMAKE'S EXISTENCE ENTIRELY!!!!!! YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PULL OFF WHAT BRANDON LEE DID AND YOU NEVER WILL!!!!!!!

All the films made after the original were practically all remakes that sucked ass. Nothing new and no point to this "remake."

"...realistic, hard-edged and mysterious, almost documentary-style." Sounds like an epic failure.

Im totally fine with this I have no problem with a reboot especially if its closer to the graphic novel. I think if Brandon Lee hadnt died people wouldnt have such a bug about a reboot. If you look at the Brandon Lee Crow it's good no question, but not this brilliant movie everyone holds it to be. The original crow is not even close to the source material so a reboot gets my thumbs up. Unless you want to sit through another shitty sequel. Cause all you can say even if you end up hating this new movie when it comes out, is that at least its no where near as bad as Edward Furlong as the crow with Tara Reid as a villian. YIKES!!!!

This is absolutely fucking ridiculous. I have had it with all of these reboots, reimaginings whatever you want to call them.

yeah this one will do nothing but piss people off. Brandon Lee's last film redone not even 20 years after his death? Hollywood seriously needs to be skull fucked right now...

I hope no one sees this. If remakes/reboots stop being profitable, production companies will stop making them. Halloween 2 was a good start.

I really hate the sound of this worse then the remake of a nightmare on elm street. If this does indeed happen I hope the best it gets is a direct to dvd release. They would have to do alot of convincing to turn me onto it. The first crow movie is one of my all time favs.

There's that word again, Realistic. Norrington, go shove your documentary realistic vision up your ass !!

Could this be any worse than the sequels?

Not sure what to think about this. No way can they top the original but as long as it doesn't try to step foot with the same plot as the original I'll give it a shot. Would be best to make it more like the comic. Just don't completly fuck this up! The sequels pretty much sucked ass. I'll give this new edition/reboot/sequel to the series one more try. Don't let us down!

By the way they should keep the 90s Industrial Music scene. It seems so fitting for The Crow.

Agree 100% with Irish Mic. No movies NEED to be remade. Why do people feel that remakes are a death sentence for the originals? I love the first Crow as much as anyone. Sequels all sucked, so why not take a serious crack at bringing Eric Draven back? I'll be there. If it sucks, it sucks. So what? The first one is safe.

I worship at the foot of The Crow. I agree - The sequels offered nothing new, and from that mess a re-make is the only option, so if I can watch the sequels I guess I can watch a re-make

Fuck this. The Crow was perfect and all else that came after it was shit. This will be no different.

Is it sad that I had to make an account just to be able to tell everyone how angry I am about this idea? Thanks for trying to ruin my favorite movie for me.

The Crow movie is a better memory than movie. It doesn't hold up. And I remember how disappointed we comic fans were when the movie came out! Didn't even try to follow the comics. But, doesn't sound like this one will either. So, fuck a duck.

Although I agree that this remake has no point since all versions of the story on film have sucked ass to this point, I have to say I still don't care..considering all of the films have sucked at this point. Brandon Lee's death does not sway my opinion like it did with most everyone it seems, I still find the original Crow to be way too slow and just boring. It tried too hard to be "dark and edgy" and really failed. For its day I guess it was ok, but I just really can't like it...so I say do whatever.

so its an actual reboot now? last i heard, it was a new story with new characters so i didnt understand how that was a reboot or remake. that just sounded like another sequel. hopefully this means the first movie will get a proper special edition around the release date of the new one, maybe even blu-ray. that would rock.
