First!

You have a VERY nice site and I visit it DAILY. Perhaps make it a rule that members cannot ridicule another member's tastes or call them foul names. The name "BLOODY DISGUSTING NEWS"...it's always embarrassed me. You'd probably get more members with a more conservative name...but what do I know?

@Biohazard - Yeah, we really do need to start enforcing the rules in the comments section. Arguing and debating is fine, but there are too many insults being thrown around. It's one of the big things we're working on behind the scenese. We might get more members with a more conservative name, but that's just not who we are. I'm the one who has to tell my Grandmother that my websites name is Bloody Disgusting, haha.

I think the whole comment section should be redone, one thing I see a lot is people fixing their spelling mistakes, so maybe look for a way to let users edit their comments. Granted it will be more tricky on your guys' end, but I think it would benefit the community more.

Also, ( I forgot something, another reason for a edit button? ) it'd be nice to see the spam comments cleaned up( "petitioning the H2 flick ), but people are gonna trash others opinions no matter what.

@dazedsmoker - most blogs/sites don't let you edit your comments though and i don't see it as a huge problem. it would be nice though. another solution we were considering was to allow users to delete their comments, that way you could just repost. what else would you like to see in a comments section? we are actually working on it now, and some things we want to include are a way to reply directly to people and a rating system to the community can "vote out" bad comments. they'd then be collapsed or hidden until you click to view it.

I worked on the set of 'Malevolence: Bereavement'. This is the sequel to the smach hit 'Malevolence' which was released in 2004 by writter/director Stevan Mena (Also made 'Brutal Massacre: A Comedy' starring David Naughton). Those would work great, I'd think. Especially being able to reply to someone directly, considering everyone ignores the little blurb above where you type your comment. I've always been happy otherwise with the comment section. But with those 3 things, I think it would defiantly be better, and probably used more by members. Of course you're going to have those few who disagree, but you can't please everyone.

This might not have anything to do with the price of tea in China, but I absolutely hate your "crumpled paper" background image "container_bg.jpg". It's too dark, and makes the black text extremely difficult to read.

I think the ego needs to be toned down with some of the news posts. It can get pretty demeaning at times.

I think Danny! should be made a forum Mod... But other than that, I'd like it if the discussions in the Groups had the same posting capabilities as the forum threads. It's difficult to reply to other people's posts. Also, totally minor, I'd like to have the option of posting my website in the User Info section of my profile.

@dazedsmoker - i'll try to fit as much into the next comment system update as i can... top priority now is to be able to vote out bad/spam comments @techstar25 - i've been told that a few times actually, i don't have that problem but on a darker monitor i can see how it could cause problems. i'll lighten it up or replace it pretty soon.

@Danny! - but then I couldn't give you infractions anymore? We used to have a website spot on the profiles, I didn't even realize it was missing... I'll add it to the list.

@techstar25 - I brightened it up a bit for now, I'm working on some other visual tweaks right now and will try to see if I can find a good replacement.

Will we be able to upload videos again?

First, please don't enforce the rules about commenting. Yes, I can be a douche with insulting people... but come on! It's not like anyone should take comment insults seriously. Second, how about giving us members the ability to add films to The Movie Pit? After a screening process of course to make sure they belong in the pit.

@JohnMarrone - Not sure at the moment... we're still working out the kinks with our new video host so we'll have to wait and see. There's nothing planned for the immediate future though. @Scurgar - There's a line that we don't want users to cross, there's no room for posts that are purely made for the purpose of insulting another member or starting a flame war. As for the movie pit idea, we've actually had that on the back burner for a while now, in the meantime though you can always use our contact form to suggest new movies.

There's not a whole lot I would change about BD really. It's an excellent site overall. Good suggestions above for the comment section. I like the idea of voting comments up and down. But I don't like the new layout with multiple pages. It was better before when all of the comments on an article appeared on the same page. Pretty minor stuff. Keep up the good work!

@maynardmorrissey - np, that's why we started doing these posts! @Undeath - pages with tons of comments really slow the site down when they are viewed, and the ones with tons of comments are always the ones that get viewed the most. it's pretty standard procedure to limit the # of comments per page, but we're planning on making it so comment pages switch without having to reload the whole page.

You need to autoban any fucktard that says first in the first comment. Hell just make it in the first 3 comments.

Only complaint I have about the site itself is: The front page is BLOATED as fuck... When I click refresh, it has to load 400 huge flash ads that span my page and I have to click X on them, then scroll down just to see the newest news. Maybe move the news bits up on the page so we can get to the actual news faster. Anyways, I LOVE this site, I visit BD probably 7 times a day just to see if there are any new things in the horror world. Thanks for the amazing stuff!

I'm pretty happy with the site. If we could edit or delete our own posts in the user comments section that would be good. Sometimes things can get said in the heat of the moment when debating films and posts need to be deleted. I know i'm sometimes guilty of it. As for changing the sites name, don't you dare!
