HERE IS A IDEA, BUY THE ORIGINAL 35mm PRINT, CLEAN IT UP AND RE-RELEASE IT INTO THEATERS, SPEND A QUARTER OF THE COST FOR ADVERTISING AND GET THE SAFE EFFECT .. BESIDES AFTER THE FILM IS SEEN, THE DVDS ARE ALREADY IN THE MARKET.

I am so sick of "re imagined" remakes. The first Mothers day was a classic. This just looks like another cleaned up piece of Hollywood crap!

i do agree w/ Monsterzero in that it looks VERY suburban. i'm not a huge fan of the original but the setting and isolation of the house (if i remember correctly) was a cool and scary/unsettling part of the movie. this looks like it was filmed at a soccer mom's type neighborhood. with plenty of kids running/playing and neighbors all around. i noticed this in the behind the scenes clip released the other day too.

Well, I for one can't wait, and am reserving judment until I see more pics. I have faith in Bousman.

We've seen the isolated house scenario portrayed a MILLION times. I get what Bousman is going for here. The fact that this kind of thing is going down in a neighborhood under every one's nose? I guess we'll find out.

i love how all of you automatically judge this movie on an extremely vague still. DLB is a fine director in my opinion and i think he'll do this one justice.

why do you people consider the original mothers day as a classic at a budget 150k that went straight to VHS, and made a total of god knows how much... When i think of classics that shouldn't be remade is: Jaws The Exorcist The Omen etc etc... You have great director Darren Lynn Bousman (SAW 2,3,4) and an unbelievable ensamble cast... I think everybody should give this movie a chance... so stop criticizing based off one still and open your damn eyes. Gil

Exactly GilRenard. Mother's Day is no classic. People are acting like it's the same as remaking Psycho, Black Christmas or Halloween. Mother's Day is the type of film they should remake because there was much room for improvement.

Can we stop calling these movies remakes? This appears to share as much with the original "Mother's Day" as "Prom Night" did with its namesake. I appreciate he's trying to "re-envision," but that requires keeping true to the core of the original.
