I've been sitting on this news for a few days now as I can't seem to figure out what's new at this point. So I figured I'd just throw it out there and see how it goes. Why not, right? Anyways, I have straight up confirmed, 100%, without a shadow of a doubt that Ivan Reitman, director of Ghost Busters and Ghostbusters II, is in fact attached to get behind the camera for Ghostbusters 3. While he's attached, the word is that he hasn't decided whether or not he really wants to direct, yet. So, yeah, is that news? But here's a little something else we conjured up. Apparently, the sequel takes place when the paranormal researchers "reopen" their ghost removal service after it has been closed for quite a few years. As previously reported, Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Rick Moranis and Sigourney Weaver have all confirmed their involvement (in various interviews on the web).
i hope reitman wants to direct it. it wont be the same without him directing the ghostbusters movies. been a fan since i was about 6 years old. i want to see another ghostbuster movie so badly.
I seen a video on movieweb, where they interviewed weaver, and she said that she would not be returning, that she would like to see them do something with her son (from ghostbusters 2. so..who know's, money talks.
Reitman said 1-2 months ago that he'd definitely be attached in some capacity and he wouldn't just totally give it away. A lot of people think he's lost his touch since he hasn't directed a good movie in years, but I agree that it wouldn't be the same without him, even if someone like Harold Ramis ended up directing.
this is gonna be exciting..
even if it sucks ultimately..how much fun will it be to see something new with this..
the cartoon episodes still get me googly. such a great thing to grow up with.
Well the low reaction to this exclusive certainly shows the interest in this movie. But more important, how could this movie possibly turn out any good if the original director is so reluctant in directing it to begin with?
i hope he does it i loved the first two also the cartoons..i wonder if annie potts is going to return too? (as janine??)....hey justin that would be cool if they had her son involved too oscar. i am so pumped for this flick! now id pay teh 10 or however much it is now to see this in theatres.
so they're re-opening after years of being closed? that's exactly what Part 2 started like. man these guys have saved NYC, probably the world, TWICE and they still lose their business? lol
Not trying to sound like an idiot or anything, but I've fallen behind on all the Ghostbusters 3 news.. Is this going to be live action or CGI like they were saying a while back?
MAYBE THEY COULD TOTALLY SCREW UP THE WHOLE IDEA HOLLYWOOD STYLE BY ANNOUNCING IT IS GOING TO BE 3D ..... SEEMS TO BE THE NEW FILM FAD OF CHOICE. I CAN SEE SO MANY THINGS GOING WRONG HERE ...
It's total an unknown how this is going to turn out, some films you have an idea, but this I just don't know. It's strange that the first one was just pure genius as each joke was pitch perfect and then for the second to fall flat as a pancake was really odd given the stars talents. I think the jokes in the second seemed to be forced and didn't naturally flow. Not to say it was bad in places (I liked it) it's just number 1 is such a impossible act to follow. Even daring to do another under such scrutiny will take filmmaking bravery on a whole new level surely?
Straight from a chance meeting with Harold Raimis about a month ago in the Atlanta airport... The re-opening after having been closed for a while is the truth... What I haven't also seen is that they are relocating to Chicago. Raimis was on the way to Chicago to scout locations and talk with backers.
